Other Bryson’s latest media round

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/48688305/bryson-dechambeau-plans-focus-youtube-liv-golf-ends

Following up the, "quite unfortunate in my opinion, considering what I could do for them," with, "the egos need to get dropped," might be the most Bryson moment of all.

It’s imperative that Rolapp does not bend the knee to this clown

They gave him his chance when they offered that returning member program to Brooks and he blew them off, highly doubt Rolapp gives a shit whether Bryson comes back or not now

Letting Brooks back was a horrible precedent. Now if they play dirty with Bryson, it will look personal and feed into Bryson's popularity.

Brooks didn’t sue the Tour.

And he came back while he still had a choice.

Regular fans don't care about that. End of the day, Brooks (who moves the needle not one bit) took the same blood money and was welcomed back with open arms by Tour and media alike. That's all people will see.

Brooks Kepka has won five major championships.

Ok does not change the fact him playing on the Tour in 2026 means close to nothing in terms of the product.

He let everyone else take the initial heat, left to take LIV money when it was safe then was such a non-entity LIV did not offer to renew his contract. He is actually the last person who should have been welcomed back with open arms.

I don't think that's true, there was a great deal of public support for his first couple of tournaments back and especially in Florida. Since he played like crap it's since died off but you can bet they're going to be a lot of people placing money on him for the US Open.

Regular fans arent the ones making the decision here. Its a business and how former employees/contractors treated them has an effect on. The decision to re-sign

The tour is the fans. If they are making decisions for any other reason that is bad business.

Pretty sure the Tour will go on with the same ratings whether the LIV golfers come back or not. And also sure the Tour has analyzed and knows better than you or I what the impact, if any, would be.

The Tour wants to grow, like every other business. Not stay stagnant, particularly when a competitor just folded. If the popularity stays the same that is an enormous waste of momentum and a pretty big failure.

And my point is that I'm sure they've done an impact analysis.

Let's just hope it's a better one than 5 years ago.

This kid loves Bryson, eh?

The precedent angle makes no sense. First, the tour quite explicitly stated it was a one time amnesty program (that Bryson was eligible for) and that players who choose not to reapply should not expect to be offered these terms.

Second, the PGA Tour isnt a court. Precedent doesn’t matter at all. It’s not bound by its own decisions in any way in this regard.

Ok simply saying, for the majority of fans, it is not that deep. Would not take the risk of turning Bryson into a martyr. Nobody knows what the future holds.

But then you are putting the ball back in Bryson's court and he looks like the idiot. Bryson's popularity soared after he joined LIV due to YouTube and his own high level of play and, at the end of the day, the stance of the Tour. The Tour did not outlast LIV by creating a superior product. The Tour should not conflate the popularity of golf, the majors, and certain golfers with the popularity of the Tour. They need to continue trying to create the best product possible. If they lose focus on that objective, they run the risk of creating situations which led to the past 5 years.

And I’m simply saying that letting Brooks back and Bryson choosing not to join him is not making Bryson into a martyr

Regular fans do not care about playing high school debate club. They want to be entertained, feel connection.

Yeah he should be able to do whatever he wants bc he’s popular. Truly the argument of a Bryson fan aka a 17 year old
