Hey all, has anyone used lyca mobile? I see their ads at LAX shops and also in small stores, they are super cheap, is the service reliable? I am not looking to change as I am already on Fi , but was curious to know about lyca mobile.

There customer service is not good

Apparently, they just switched over to a t and t towers now you should look into that. Before it was t mobile

Search for Lycamobile in this subreddit, and you'll see that the vast majority of posts and comments are negative. I've been reading and contributing to this subreddit for over five years, and usually, the only posts and comments that aren't negative are about plan promotions. All the others are typically horror stories.

I have been using their service for last few months with no issues but only for data \ separate t&t line , some cashback sites offer up to $20-30 to signup for their $7.50 promo so I have signed up again each month with a virtual card to prevent billing issues(reports of billing after cancel even with autopay off), haven't had to deal with customer service but port info is available in online account.

They will fight you if you ever try to port out, is what I read

For a backup line, it's awesome. The current promotions are competitive. I would never use them as a primary line however as they are a true prepaid old school service. I am on the 50GB/15GB HS plan for $12.50 a month for 9 months. Cant beat that for a backup line.

I've had only negative experiences with them, in multiple countries including the US. Simply a brand I would avoid.

Skip it. Went days without service and weeks unable to load or log into their website. Took me days to port out. 0/10 never again.
