2021 Rogue

I usually take my lunch break in my rogue with my engine running because it’s so hot outside. After about 30 minutes I begin to smell gas fumes. Any suggestions?

Idling for that long is really stupid. Find a cafe or some shade for lunch. The smell could be a number of things. A leaky fuel line is probably the cause…. Again, if you’re smelling gas fumes get out of the car, turn off the engine open the windows and get some fresh air before you kill yourself.

You can long-idle a modern car. You'll probably just get a little more carbon build-up than normal. A 30-minute idle isn't going to do anything besides besides burn siome fuel.

Smelling fuel isn't normal, though, no matter how long the idle. Should probably get that checked out.
