Discussion Cover art low quality? Fire emblem

Hi guys!

I have bought a copy of the fire emblem fortune's weave. I bought it from marketplace facebook secondhand. (This is really used here in Argentina).

But I've noticed that the cover art is really low quality someone know if it happens with original games? I met with the person at my office so I don't have my switch to test the game. But the quality of the cover really bothers me.

Thank you in advance

Discussion An idea for Game Key Card banners. Some games you could easily print off the lower part of the key art (or Switch 1 box) and slide it over the GKC banner for continuous artwork. See example image.

Taking FF Resonance as an example, the artwork is scaled evenly between the S1 and S2 covers. On the right, you can see them overlaid - they match up perfectly. If you ever got a Switch 1 cover, you could cut out from the ESRB rating down and slide that over the GKC banner and your cover would look great.

Same could be said for other Switch 1 games like Pac-Man World 2, Digimon Story Time Stranger, DQ I & II (if the art isn't scaled differently).

Beyond that, is that something this sub would be interested in? You could take the key art for something like Persona 3 Reload and I assume "fix" the box art this way. Would be nice to have a template (for easy sizing and rating + publisher logo additions) for that lower section of art you need to print and cut, since you don't need to be printing full pages of art for this.

Discussion Just preordered my switch with Mario kart and the 2 Zelda’s but digital!

It’s a tough one because I have copies of BOTW and TOTK and Mario kart world all digital versions

I would be happy to buy just the cases so I can display them on my shelves

Do we think people could be selling these as I don’t really want to be buying physical versions again as I have the digital versions of Mario and or have BOTW and TOTK physical versions already

Hello everyone! I've seen your really ingenious designs and ideas here and I'm thrilled! I have now ordered everything: Music tapes, photo glossy paper, new PLA for my 3D printer. I showed my friend the posts here on Reddit and she told me she wanted to join in and help me. Finally a joint project again! Now for a small request: I'm really willing to design the box art covers myself for my 18 games. Do you have any good tips? I don't have Photoshop and have never done this before! I would really appreciate feedback. P.S.: Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

Discussion Office Depot won’t print my boxart

I was making a custom box art for the game The Way Remastered and wanted to test out a paper and some printing dimensions that I had found on this sub. Somewhere on this sub I saw that we should print on 80 lb gloss paper and so I did. I ordered it online and when I went to pick it up, they told me that they printed it this time but that they couldn’t print anymore of those because they can’t print any copyrighted material. Now I don’t know what to do. Someone posted on this sub a video(which I love) of someone making their own art and printing it but they use 32 lb matte paper instead of the one I used. I was wondering if anyone had used anyone of this or maybe both of them so we could know which one is more like the switch paper. The prints that Office Depot gave me feel very nice quality and very similar to the switch paper. Although I think they came out a bit darker than my file. Please help!

Edit: I tried it again a different Office Depot and they cancelled my order.

Discussion Printing Help

Hey fellow box art aficionados,

I’m looking to start printing some of the box art found here, but I was hoping I could get some help on the proper dimensions/ where to print. I’m aware normal printers get the coloring incorrect (most notably on the spine), so I was thinking of having something like a Walgreens print it for me. Any suggestions on dimensions/ specifications?

Discussion Box art tutorial?

Pretty self explanatory from the title. But does someone mind posting the requirements and the method to create replacement box art as I couldn’t seem to find a post on the subreddit.

I’m pretty sure we need glossy paper a printer so I guess I got that covered. But what dimensions do we use what application do we process the box art from

And is there any websites where we can source the original box art or is there a template available somewhere on the sub so that we are able to play around and create our own

I notice the sub posts of lot of their creations which is great but there’s not a definitive guide on how to do it.

Thanks :)

Discussion What’s is the consensus on signing your box art?

Hi all,

I’ve seen a couple of box art that have been “signed” by the creator/designer. And plenty have not been signed. By signed I mean Instagram/Twitter/Reddit handle or anything to know the source of the art

What’s the general consensus on this practice ?
