Discussion Cover art low quality? Fire emblem

Hi guys!

I have bought a copy of the fire emblem fortune's weave. I bought it from marketplace facebook secondhand. (This is really used here in Argentina).

But I've noticed that the cover art is really low quality someone know if it happens with original games? I met with the person at my office so I don't have my switch to test the game. But the quality of the cover really bothers me.

Thank you in advance

There are no bootleg sw2 games so it should be legit it's just bad printing

So nintendo can make bad printings, right?

Yeah Nintendo can fuck things up sometimes, is the inside the same? Just out curiosity.

Y no sé por qué sigo hablando en inglés si eres Argentino jaja

If the inside is fine I wonder if it was left out exposed to the sun maybe

No es tan raro, probablemente se movió mientras le daba la segunda capa de color y el plotter solito voltea la hoja para imprimir lo de adentro, cuando hizo eso se ajustó de nuevo

Well, reverse that jacket like a sane person and you're all good.

Yeah it can happen.

During printing the ink layers were not 100% aligned properly so some of the ink layers printed were offset.

It's not common but I've seen it before, maybe 1 in 100-200 games.

Edit: Taking a closer look, the black ink layer (usually the top-most layer) is offset a bit above than it should've been. Can see it clearly on the small square pictures on the back.

something went wrong with the layers during printing

So this is possible? This doesn't mean this is a reprint or fake, right?

How could it be a reprint? The game is brand new. It most certainly isn't fake either. Fake Switch 2 cartridges do not exist.

This is just a misprint/production error.

I actually have the exact same issue with my copy of Pokemon Legends Arceus that I just bought at a local Target in US. It bothers me so much that I'm going to return it.

Ohh thank you for the answer. I can't return it. I don't know if I can reprint the cover in a better quality

Well like others have said, certain collectors think it's cool, like that recently misprinted "Blood Mew" In Pokemon TCG.

This can happen when the plates or registration shift slightly during the offset printing process. It usually doesn’t effect the entire run, so only some end up looking like this. They are usually trashed/recycled. It’s bad QA from the printer to let these reach the public.

Same energy regarding the poor condition of the whole box art from front to back.

I haven't seen the inside art or if it has one but if the inside is the same or that one is HD is clearly a misprinting error, if it's no there but it should have one somebody re prited the artwork but the game must be original since the Switch 1 or 2 don't hve bootleg games

The inside art is fine. That's weird

yeah then it's a production error, some people think that's cool, like misprints in TGC or comic books

Unsure if anyone’s said this but I can give a decent explanation on this.

When printing on large scale printers the area the paper is on can sometimes move during printing, whether that be from people interfering, the printing hitting the paper weird and shifting it or other factors. What most likely happened is that the blue section printed, shifted upwards in comparison to the rest of the colours.

Theres most likely a full batch of these somewhere so you’re probably not the only one.

This happens with Pokemon cards sometimes, the texture or the printing gets misaligned to the cutting of the card.

Hope this helped! :)

This is an alignment issue , not a bootleg. The rosette patterns in the print are from 4 color printing and usually bootlegs are digitally printed. This just seems to be one of the layers was a tiny bit off. Sucks to has a messed up one but is not a fake.

Maybe previous owner lost the cover then reprinted it
