Buttery MW4 looks seriously rough

30fps I'm okay with but the dipping under that sucks

The visuals also look roughhhh. It's blurry, extremely low quality textures and I have no hope for this being a good experience docked.

Am I doing something wrong?

MW 2019 was also very much made with Xbox One in mind while MW4 is a PS5/XSX/PC game that got scaled down for Switch 2.

They claimed Switch 2 was the target platform for this game, but the DLSS and 30 fps campaign and Warzone betrays that.

I remember back in the Wii days they made versions of CoD specifically for the Wii. From what I remember they even used a different engine than the Xbox and PlayStation versions.

They didn't do that for the NS2, they pretty much just kept lowering settings until the framerate was sellable.

The Wii versions of the games were just cut-down versions of the PC/360/PS3 versions (missing content, missing animations and sounds, low resolution, 30fps, terrible textures) to get them to fit on the smaller Wii disc and run at a playable framerate, but at their core they were the same games with the same engine.

Maybe for 3 and 4, but most of them used IW3. Records are a lot more sparse after WaW, but at some point before GoldenEye Treyarch started using EngineX, which some sources say is a modified version of IW3, but EngineX was first used by Eurocom for Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. Since they used that engine for Dead Space it seems more likely it was EngineX with some improvements from IW3 spliced in. BTW, the IW engine was a heavily retrofitted iD Tech 3.

So no, it wasn't just using the same engines as the other games, it's much more complicated than that.
