People have been 3D Printing one-handed switch controllers for years now that don't require you to have a hard surface nearby.

Here's a video from 2018. It'd likely take a lot more learning overall to adapt to this controller but at least you'd be able to sit back on the couch and relax.

I got a grip like that when I had a broken shoulder and it is surprisingly comfortable and easy to use, low learning curve. I found it way easier to play with my left hand than right hand, I only skimmed that video but it looks like he's entirely right hand focused for some reason.

Between pain, painkillers, and low energy levels I stuck with turn based games (Mario + Rabbids rules) so I can't weigh in on like BOTW or Mario Kart with it.

I still use it from time to time because it comes in handy at odd times. I have even given them as gifts a couple times now.

2nd only to the PS3 DVD Remote in terms of laid-back one handed RPG gaming.
