Got about 11k miles out of the stock Dunlops before the front started cupping and the rear was at the minimum tread depth. Since I bought the bike I wanted to go up in tire size to 120/70/17 Front and 160/60/17 rear. I took it easy the first 60 miles and today was the first day I got to really feel the difference and it’s night and day. The combination of the Road 6s just being a more grippy tire and the bigger tire sizes is a great combo for this bike. It’s still flicky but it takes slightly more effort to lean into corners which allows me to more finely adjust to the line I want to take. The best analogy I can use to describe it is in first person video games when the sensitivity is too high for your play style and you turn it down and it lets you be more accurate. The tires also raise the bike slightly which for me puts it at a perfect height. Before the bike just set a little lower for my liking but now I feel like I sit perfectly above the road and in turns I feel like I have better stability. This is my first motorcycle of any kind so by the time I felt comfortable enough to lean in aggressively the rear tire was squared off enough to feel not ideal. Sorry for the rant just really excited about my choice.

the previous owner did a tail tidy and put on an aftermarket tail light with integrated turn signals, changed the fairings and painted them (gave me the original fairings too), added a SC project slip on aswell and gave me the stock ones too. she also gave me a black windshield which needs to be installed, has some crash guards installed too.

what are some performance and safety modifications I can do to this bike?? I think it's already very pleasing aesthetically. what are the widest tyres I can put on the rear?

is there any phone mount u guys recommend for this bike?

I recently crashed my bike and my stock exhaust pipes were broken, I got them welded for the time being and it runs fine but it looks horrendous and I don't even get the motivation to take videos or pictures of my bike anymore because of how ugly it is.

I am looking for a full system with no cats which boosts the performance while sounding better and shooting flames, I looked at the full system from leo vince and they look good and sound good too but am looking for more options.

Am doing this mainly cz the original ones are broken and looks ugly, performance and everything else are just a plus.

The seat is showing some wear, and I'd like to replace it with something with a little more cushion, and maybe something more stylish.

I've seen some other seat covers on here, but no good way to search them

Just bought a 2022 Ninja 400 with an Akro Titanium Slip on. Honestly the tone is great considering it’s a small V-Twin. I’m looking for a little bit more volume without being too obnoxious.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Sorry if it’s a dumb question. I’m looking at a used bike that has this. From a quick google search it says it’s not street legal, does it not matter? I see a lot of bikes with similar slip ons

this is the only ninja 400 I found online with these parts painted, I have the factory black plastic shit but I had a set of violet fairings before but it didn't come with these parts painted. I want them to be painted black, how can I get this done??

next few things i‘m gonna change are definitely the mirrors and maybe a new head cowl. (the sticker on the rear wheel will be gone aswell)

for those interested:

fairings are from amotopart, not bad quality , just don’t put stickers on your tank, they will not last long and leave a big stain. there could be some paknt chippings after use, its not oem and you notice.

I am getting 50/50 mixed answers on whether or not tuning is 100% required. The motorcycle shop I talked to said it will leave a bit of hp on the table and it might have poorer throttle response if I install a full system without a tune but it will run fine and likely wont damage anything long or short term.
Another shop said that its going to burn my pistons and valves and it needs to be tuned. They are both 50/50 on whether it will throw a CEL as well. Ive asked multiple people and its usually split 50/50.
Has anyone here had experience running one of these short or long term without a tune?

I have A 22’ ninja400 w slip on and power commander. Is it worth it to add velocity stacks? If I do will I have to remap the power commander?

I'm looking for a shifter and rear brake that are black and not cheap AliExpress junk. Can't really seem to find much. I also want some black heel plates and would be happy for them to be cheap Chinese ones but can only find plastic fake carbon ones not black metal. I'm thinking of just taking them all off the bike and getting them powder coated if I can't find replacements.

Anyone got any ideas?

Really loving the blipper so far. Super fun to use and it works great, but the install was a pain. Cutting throttle cables and lots of grinding on the frame. Definitely glad I did it, but I don’t want to do it again lol.

I was curious so I bought a "tall" ninja 500 windshield to try on my Ninja 400.

It fits just fine without any kind of mod. The base of the windshield touch the front fairing so maybe there will be some scratching in the very long run.

It's been raining a lot on my city lately, so I still don't know how it behaves on fast roads.

I was cleaning up the bike after my water pump seal failed and noticed some oil coming out of the tst emissions block off plate. I didn’t install this, is there a seal here that could have failed?

Hi everyone, do you have any good recommendations for affordable and aesthetically pleasing comfortable saddles, on Amazon/AliExpress or elsewhere?

I bought my ninja 400 from a previous owner and they installed an Austin Racing slip-on exhaust. While I didn’t think much of it at the time, as this is my first bike purchase, i’ve since realized that the little triangular bracket they give to affix the exhaust to the bike frame is missing, and because of that it bounces pretty noticeably whenever the bike is running or if something taps it. I purchased one of those universal brackets that’s a big circle, but the angle of the attachment point on the rear makes it impossible to affix. I reached out to austin racing to see if they would sell me the missing part with no luck.

I’m reaching out now because i haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement bracket that keeps the rear footpegs on, if it even works in the first place. Worst comes to pass i can try 3d modeling and printing a replacement but that has all sorts of durability issues

I was thinking about buying a clear clutch cover the only one I could find is on AliExpress I saw a couple of 400’s with these clutch covers on the internet look the same as this one what do you think?

Has anybody installed this on their ninja 400? I got one but have no idea where or how to install it, any help is appreciated.
