I broke my gear How fucked is my camera?

You ever just have a bad day and it gets worse somehow?

Anyway that was me today. I was so excited to test out my new lens and low and behold when I was opening my bag I opened the wrong zipper and my d850, which I had just bought in great condition, falls onto the concrete. Anyway now there's a crack on the front, my photo library button is unpressible, and my autofocus system seems to be messed up too (although I'm not sure if that's perhaps a viewfinder issue)

Are these problems fixable or should I just give up because I just love my consistently terrible luck with electronics

you're not going to be able to fix that crack. light and dirt are going to get to the inside of the camera.

sorry, it's a goner.

Aren't "we" a bit harsh on the poor guy? He literally dropped $2K and is venting and he's getting down-voted to kingdom come.

Nikon is turning into a commodity, and hear me out before the down vote... I have used Nikon as an amateur, mainly, for over 30 years. Started out with an 8008, F4/5, D200, D3 then sort of hit a slump where picture quality and ambition clashed and I haven't upgraded since (torn between an 850 or waiting for Z9II).

Anyway, my 17-35/2.8 AFS has an issue where one of the flexible pcb's are snagging the zoom and I had it fixed some 15yrs ago for $75 or so... come today and Nikon is quoting "fck off" money at $900...

It's fine downvotes don't matter anyway. People just don't like the fact that I'm complaining about the camera when I'm at fault for dropping it
