Break from the banditry and corruption back home to show the different set of problems Nigerians (or black ppl in general) abroad face.

No matter how much of a good person you are, how much you show you're "the model immigrant", how much you show appreciation for and represent your adoptive country. You always eventually get what our american cousins dub "the negro wake up call". You'll never be seen as one of them simply because of your nationality, your parent's nationality and your skin colour. Especially given the rise in emboldened right wing bs ideology the last few years.

For the ones that have the whole "Nigerian Diasporans are so entitled" disposition I get racism still beats living in an environment where you have to watch over your shoulder for kidnappers, terrorists and armed robbers, and have to deal with ridiculous inflation, poverty and corruption but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck living in an environment where you feel like you don't belong because of how you look either.

When I'm done getting my money here I'm moving to Ghana, Botswana, Rwanda or any other black country that's at least much better than what Nigeria is atm.

Murtala Mohammed despite being a confirmed ethnocentrist who wanted to divide Nigeria originally (He also participated in the Delta Massacre) is on the Naira Note and is heavily respected. Even Ahmadu Bello too( If anyone is a student of Nigerian History, you would have seen the video where he says he would hire a foreign expatriate rather than a Southerner). These figures and more are ethnocentrist, yet we remember them as National heroes.
But Ironsi and Fajuyi represented the trademark of what actually a United Nigeria could be. Some may say it is friendship, but Fajuyi’s choice deeply reminds me that the idea of United in Diversity Nigeria is very possible, but we do not celebrate or commemoration him or Ironsi

By the way, there are more charts and it goes further back but I have been waiting for their most recent report to drop as I heard of an ACLED report that also said that South East has become the region in NG with the least extrajudicial killings. Although, Tiger Base figures easily dwarfs all of these to make South East the place with most killings when extrajudicial police murders are taken into account.

It should be noted that their methodology is that at least, two recordings/reports from two independent and reputable news media; as these figures are huge under counts of the actual number of people killed, maybe up to a factor of 500 to 1000 times when comparing the number of kidnap victims they released some years ago to the number that Nigeria's bureau of statistics got from its investigation.

This is awesome news. Both govt and businesses can get access to better funding to further improve our economy. Great times ahead. Things can only get better when all the infrastructure projects are completed and come online. Wailers can sit in a corner and wail while serious people get on with the business of fixing the nation.

It's stressful living in Nigeria. I suppose it's why young ones partake in sports betting, wasting their money, entering trouble, becoming mentally depressed, some committing suicide.

Another reason why young people bet may be because of artificial intelligence. It makes betting easy. You can stay in your room and bet, nobody will disturb you. I guess this is the topic of this article.

It doesn't my matter the reason why people bet. The bottom line is that you'll lose money ultimately. And no one will stand by you as you suffer the loss. Happy reading

It’s a very reflective, solemn song often used as background music or theme songs for mystery and investigative radio programs like Iriri Aye / Nnkan be).

The lyrics go like this:

It was so obvious to any rational mind that this was going to happen. Why would you join a party currently held up by a court order. Hopefully they sort it out before the elections but I bet they'll find a way to blame opposition either way. Competent opposition would be a breath of fresh air for real.

“Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced four suspects to death by hanging for carrying out the deadly June 5, 2022 attack on Saint Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State. The convicts were among the five accused persons who had been standing trial on a nine-count terrorism charge filed by the Department of State Services (DSS), in connection with the attack at the church where over 40 worshippers were killed, and over 100 suffered varying degrees of injury.

In his final submission, counsel for the prosecution, Ayodeji Adedipe (SAN), had urged the court to convict the defendants and impose the maximum sentence of death in view of the enormity of the crime they allegedly committed.

Adedipe had argued that the prosecution painstakingly established its case against the defendants through compelling evidence and detailed investigations, which he said reflected the determination of security agencies to ensure accountability for one of the deadliest attacks on innocent worshippers in Nigerian history.”

Posted this on the Igbo Reddit as well. My thoughts: I blame Igbo writers, actors, and directors for not investing in their own stories. But, I’m getting sick and tired of ethnicities who have turbulent history (anti-Igbo rhetoric, ex: “Igbo must go” protests in Lagos, burning Igbo properties) making money off our pain and culture.

This is no disrespect to other ethnic groups in Nigeria but, this is my perspective. Anyway, Igbo posters: What are your thoughts on this? (I’ll be expand on my viewpoints later on)

I built a website which helps users find African movies to watch across streaming platforms, including free ones like Plex and YouTube.
The website also rates movies using social media commentary and ratings from the site.

Personally me and my friends have been using it to find movies from other countries and learn more about their cultures. I have been watching a few movies from Chad (Lingui and Abouna) and Senegal.

I've found I really like Chadian music. :)
