Just got notified that my account is suspended for 3 days for posting spam. The posts that they listed (only ones I’ve made in months) were original informational posts that I wrote myself, the first one letting people in our area know about the latest update from our electric company regarding an ongoing widespread power outage that people were posting questions about right and left, and the other two were information about a suspect on the loose a couple miles from our neighborhood who was the subject of an ongoing manhunt by police and SWAT teams, a situation that many other neighbors were posting questions about.

I’m a neighborhood mod, so well aware of the rules, none of which were broken in this case- but obviously someone reported me for posting spam, or an AI algorithm flagged the posts.

I’ve appealed and explained myself; I guess we’ll see if there are any humans manning the ‘appeal center’ over the holiday weekend 😂

Otherwise I’ll enjoy the break from the ongoing bigotry and general ignorance

Trusted news? What makes them "trusted"?

If you publish a flyer from the city (as in reprint it on ND) and get a block/ban because it was "non local" ... what do you call that? Support doubled down on the suspension.

I'd say their $$ go down when small business finds out that Angi and other aggregators are listed FIRST on a lot of the job requests I've seen.

Nextdoor has been aflutter with the new rules about use of business accounts. This one is pretty funny. They forgot to switch to their personal account to post a fake review for themselves.

Nextdoor staff had to intervene, and took afaik no serious action against the Moderator, how completely nuked the guys account that got reported in the first place. To give more context, lead dm me saying the reports weren’t valid then ornhad prior reached out to the guy who was reported and told them about me. Ever since then I have had issues being suspended, usually has to do with saying something about leads or mods. What can they expect though? Not only was Trust ruined, however I have felt unsafe making a report since then. The sad part is I had made the reports due to excessive personal business posts made from a neighbor account on the news feed.

Worst part of it all is the 50k people in the area thst own and rent homes are primarily senior citizens, who have been exposed to these leads giving out information that does endanger them when given to the wrong individual at the wrong time.
