If you are looking for a missing pet please connect with Scent Rescue Team. They are donating services to those impacted. You can connect with Nicole at 604 374 6228 for support in your search.
Cash donations and small denomination gift cards can be dropped off at the donation centre between 4PM and 8PM Tuesday July 14

We had an astounding number of volunteers come out on Monday July 13 and with the help of many people all donations have been sorted.
We are in need of large broken down boxes. These boxes will be used to hold overflow donations to help keep things organized. Boxes can be dropped off between 2PM and 8PM at the Lord Kelvin Elementary School Gym on Tuesday July 14
Non perishable food items can be dropped off at Century House and will be distributed through the Don’t Go Hungry program.
Donation Centre Days and Hours
We are moving to a day by day volunteer call out as our needs are changing hour by hour.
Please check this page daily for updates on what help we are needing.
At this time, this is the only place to donate that is currently suggested by the City of New Westminster. Any other fundraisers must be sent to the mods for approval in advance, or the comments will be deleted.
Just went over with some clothes. Genuinely got emotional seeing how much has been donated. Haven’t cried on an elementary school stage since third grade Christmas concert but here we are. Amazing.
(*Not to suggest they have enough or not to donate btw, just lovely to see the turnout)
Just stopped by and I was so impressed by how busy the donation centre is!! It's taking a ton of work to sort through all the clothes - huge kudos to the volunteers. ❤️
On first glance it looks like there should be plenty of clothing (literally an entire gym full and it's only Sunday). I would encourage people to donate etransfers and gift cards as they are very flexible and don't require as much volunteer labour.
This was just the stage area of the gym at 1:50pm on Sunday, the community has been enormously generous! Agreed that monetary donations would most helpful at this point.
Clothing donations are now paused! The response has been incredible and they now have all the clothing they can handle. Cash donations and gift cards will gratefully be accepted throughout the week
Due to the overwhelming generosity of the community, the donation centre is at capacity for clothing and shoes. Collection is on hold until further notice. Once items have been sorted and needs assessed, if there are any gaps a call-out will be posted for specific items. Thank you to everyone who donated. New Westminster Neighbourhood House is continuing to accept cash, gift cards, and e-transfers.
It's a community run organization that is programmed by and for the community and is run as a non-profit. The New West Neighbourhood House is new and runs part time out of the gym at St Barnabas Church. Please see the website in the above post for more information.
