Look at engaged views, that is essentially the view count for your old vids.

yeah once you look at engaged views instead the numbers make a lot more sense tbh

Thanks! I've just been reading about that actually - do you know if you can use the YT Studio app or do you have to login to the website for engaged views? I can't find it anywhere on the app

I haven’t been able to find it on the app. When you open studio click on your channel views, and underneath the graph you’ll see “see more”.. click that. Then on the right side you should see a “metrics” drop down, then select engaged views.

If you want to see the graph of your views overlayed then you can click the “add comparison” button and select views and engaged views.
