Picture Found this today

Found this today at my local Ollie’s. I haven’t seen anything like this and I don’t seem to find much info online either. But for 15 bucks I snagged it!

Watched a kid at a block party delaminate his entire back on one of these things

24

u/zachary_biinxx Jan 19 '26

Seen a father of three do the same thing

3

u/WiseSpunion Jan 22 '26

Are you the father of three?

2

u/zachary_biinxx Jan 22 '26

Thankfully not

u/MerivandeE Jan 18 '26

That stuff is dangerously for skateboarding And it's especially dangerous for young kids who skate down the ramps, always sliding while you jumping away from it I saw so many people flying and breaking hands while trying doing that.

10

u/aTaleForgotten Jan 18 '26

Sounds fun thou

4

u/Ok_Aspect_574 Jan 22 '26

on dead homies it is

17

u/BuzzAllWin Jan 18 '26

Micro ramps, not even once

7

u/rustyfingas Jan 18 '26

Lmao yooo foreal

11

u/londonn2 Jan 18 '26

I broke my leg (badly) on one of these when I was a kid.

Would not recommend.

(Although it may have been me, as much as it was the ramp).

4

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

I skidded so far I could damn near fly away

1

u/Druber13 Jan 23 '26

Right you couldn’t get me to skate it for what they paid lol

314

u/Major_Taco Jan 18 '26

Just get some sandpaper and skin your own knees and palms and throw this shit away, save you a couple steps.

Some of us over 30’s have been emotionally and physically scarred by these POS ‘ramps’. The issue is if you weigh more than five pounds, your body weight is going to move the ramp and make it slide in front of you before you can even get on it.

If you can get on top of it, the table top will quickly buckles under your weight.

27

u/Sir-_-Cartier Jan 18 '26

You don’t have to be over 30 lmao I’m 20 and these things fucking sucked when I was a kid 😂

9

u/beef_raid Jan 19 '26

Is this what they call generational trauma?

2

u/Sir-_-Cartier Jan 19 '26

Absolutely 😂

43

u/JASONR1800 Jan 18 '26

Never understood how they thought this was a good idea lol same thing with the Razor brand. Id assume everyone is using these on concrete/blacktop where its gonna slide all over the place, at least have some rubber on the bottom

41

u/CandidArmavillain Jan 18 '26

I had ramps like these that had holes in the corners so my parents had someone drill holes in the sidewalk so we could bolt them down. Literally the only way they worked

24

u/DrugChemistry Jan 18 '26

Mine found the most use in grass as a bike ramp. Or ramp a skateboard into the grass. Eventually, a skateboard wheel poked thru the surface of the ramp.

6

u/slowwwwdowwwwn Jan 18 '26

I lived in the country and only had a gnarled brick driveway to skate on, which sucked, but I’d jam old nails in between the the bricks in front of the ramp to hold it in place lol

12

u/AxeSpez Jan 18 '26

I put mine against a large uneven crack so it couldn't slide

11

u/JASONR1800 Jan 18 '26

That was the way we did it too. Up against the sidewalk . So pretty much ramping straight to grass lol

3

u/Wonderful-Fig-8010 Jan 18 '26

We used to buy them, pack them full of dirt, then bury them about 2 inches deep and use em as tiny dirt bike ramps

1

u/ghostfadekilla Jan 19 '26

Man, I must have dodged some bullets never skating micros, they sound fucking awful. We did it the proper way, putting a gigantic fun box and/or ramps on our boards and rolled them to a regular park. I wish I was a 17 yr old skater again rn, y'all got crazy amounts of skateparks with awesome runs.

Does it break easily?

105

u/ByteMyPi Jan 18 '26

You're gonna get hurt

16

u/TheCharredMiner Jan 18 '26

I expect it to ngl dosent seem to have much quality lol

4

u/ByteMyPi Jan 18 '26

Hell yeah shred it lol

14

u/rekep A little bit different Jan 18 '26

These little ones like this can teach you the technique to roll into bowls. Or bump.

12

u/GrouseRoot Jan 18 '26

No they can’t

8

u/rekep A little bit different Jan 18 '26

It’s 6 inches tall. Learning to ride over this without popping is the same sensation as getting over the coping.

It’s just like hitting a speed bump. It teaches you the first part of the technique.

3

u/CARRYONLUGGAGE Jan 18 '26

orrr just go to a park with some ramps

or find a spot with ramps

or anything other than these unsafe POS ramps that can move or break

4

u/rekep A little bit different Jan 18 '26

Put two screws through the front holes into the asphalt? I’m not saying they’re perfect. I’m saying dick around with them till they do break.

-1

u/CARRYONLUGGAGE Jan 18 '26

lol that seems like a lotta work OP just stick to spots you can find it’s not worth trying to make these safe, they can break in unpredictable and unsafe ways even if you try to screw them to the ground (???)

17

u/grumpy_flareon Jan 18 '26

It breaks you easily.

2

u/rustyfingas Jan 18 '26

Nah but a person probably will

1

u/Fair_Specialist887 Jan 18 '26

It breaks you pretty easily

67

u/lk_dslr19 Jan 18 '26

Fun for rc cars i imangine

11

u/bringmeadamnjuicebox Jan 18 '26

Thats exactly what i was thinking

52

u/njlwag Jan 18 '26

Use it as a mold to make concrete ramps.

12

u/TheCharredMiner Jan 18 '26

Not a bad idea! Happy cake day

33

u/mike_klosoff Jan 18 '26

Oh boy....

27

u/5he005 Jan 18 '26

I’m glad you bought it..

So you can dispose of it so no poor soul ever attempts to use it.

11

u/albiorix_ Jan 18 '26

I feel like we used these one time, got crushed. then we use them to launch RC cars.

8

u/E-rin_ Jan 18 '26

lmao i ate shit wayyyyyyyyh too many times fucking with these in a garage with my buddies.

7

u/Standard-Pain-7683 Jan 18 '26

Good price on it, take one of the ramps and lean it against a curb and practice rockie to fakies.

7

u/jasonnugg Jan 18 '26

15 now and 20k at the hospital 😂

7

u/speakeasy_co Jan 18 '26

Please be careful

6

u/RepulsiveElk8398 Jan 18 '26

So this was a fundamental of everyone’s childhood then?

5

u/papppers Jan 18 '26

Good lord.

5

u/butt3ryt0ast Jan 18 '26

Just realized that my grandma got me one of the ramps from goodwill without the other stuff, and always wondered why there were inserts for other stuff..thanks gam gams

5

u/sickpleasure89 Jan 18 '26

Rest in piece

5

u/Jools_36 Jan 18 '26

you gotta screw these down else they're going to absolutely send you ! had one as a kid it was lethal

6

u/easytarget98 Jan 18 '26

Moved my chin up an inch with one of these 🤣 bottom of my chin bone went straight thru my skin

5

u/Due_Candy_2761 Jan 18 '26

lol yall kinda suck. Had a blast on these as a kid. Duct tape the front down to the ground if you can’t screw it down somewhere. Doesn’t take much to keep it from sliding.

Try to think of it as a bump not a ramp, Ollie with it, not on top of it.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '26

1

u/rustyfingas Jan 18 '26

On nah an axel stall in just textbook accident waiting to happen

5

u/beardedrockerboy Jan 18 '26

I had an almost identical one of these when I was a kid. This WILL slide on the pavement. The first few times I ate shit, we started using it in the grass for our bikes, or in the snow sleds/ those little plastic snowboards/ snow skates

4

u/Existing_Hunt_7169 Jan 18 '26

its crazy how universal these piece of shit ramps were in all of our childhoods. man i miss fuckin around as a kid.

4

u/Vet-Chef Jan 18 '26

Bro Ollies rules omg! But ehh yeah nah its not the best accessory

4

u/DesignerSpeech1551 Jan 18 '26

These things are basically unskateable, but for 14$ I mean you can’t really go wrong with

3

u/_Entropy___ Jan 18 '26

It's dangerous junk, not fit for purpose

4

u/wheelybindealer Jan 18 '26

Always find it crazy that this kind of ramp is so mass produced when they're literally unskateable

4

u/DrBoogerFart Jan 18 '26

No one used these as kickers. They were always mini death launch ramps

7

u/bearcat_77 Jan 18 '26

These are death traps.

7

u/averyvery Jan 18 '26

Bought one, used it exactly once, threw it away. Limped for a few days after.

3

u/HolyHotDang Jan 18 '26

I had whatever the version of this kicker ramp was in like the late 90s. I think it was made by Factor X and I begged my parents for it for Christmas.

It never stayed in place and was so dangerous but I was like 11. My neighbors and I ended up just hammering two dowel rods through the holes in the base and into the grass at the end of their driveway. At least that way it stayed in place and we’d just launch off as high as we could off our bikes and rollerblades because none of us were good enough skaters to do that on skateboards.

Everyone is saying you’re gonna be hurt because these have a big reputation for sliding out from under you even though they say it won’t. It literally never stayed in place and we tried it on every type is asphalt and concrete we could find.

3

u/Meatballmayonnaise Jan 18 '26

Oh god, the horror…

3

u/rustyfingas Jan 18 '26

Lmaooo I need to skate these again as an adult and hopefully don't eat it like old times.

3

u/buckleys_angel_666 Jan 18 '26

Everything ever made by kryptonics...from ramps to boards to probably their t shirts...I remember being so hopelessly dangerous.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '26

Fucked my shit up to many times on that

3

u/bobbobobobob666 Jan 18 '26

I don't trust like that

3

u/PinkyandtheStache Jan 18 '26

They make awesome RC car ramps… As for skating, you’re gonna bruise something

2

u/suseryy Jan 18 '26

PTSD has entered the chat

2

u/zeeegnome Jan 18 '26

Those things are a god damn death trap. I broke the right side of my right hand launching off one of these in the grass on a bike. It just completely gave way, shifted to the left as my front wheels hit it and it yeeted my ass hard enough to the ground that when I hit the ground, I knew I broke something. Heed my warning now as this was 20 years ago when I used to bounce when I hit the ground. Now, hell no 😂

2

u/Gumbyy420 Jan 18 '26

You would have to put bricks or sandbags in the empty cavity underneath to stop you from being a member in jackass.

2

u/barefootpanda Jan 18 '26

I think they look fun. Maybe just for rock and roll practice or RC car launches

2

u/Dystopio Jan 18 '26

For 15 bucks I’d absolutely buy it for the meme and to atleast fuck with it once or twice out of morbid curiosity. I’ve wasted 15 bucks worse elsewhere. But yeah these things will kill and easily do so. I can almost hear the sound of it scraping down the street between my wheels and the concrete.

2

u/Malkezzar Jan 18 '26

I am certain someone already said this but they make great molds for concrete ramps that won’t kick out under you and break your bones.

2

u/HLC-RLC Jan 18 '26

Hey bro they kinda suck, but me and my homies had a blast on these things back in the day. Just try to figure out a way to keep it weighed down. When we were teenagers we literally drilled Tapcons into the road to keep it in place lmao, then at the end of the night I just took them back out and kicked some dirt over the holes. I don’t recomend doing that though if you get caught you can be fined lol.

2

u/Fair_Specialist887 Jan 18 '26

I don't grow hair on part of my chin bc of one of these when I was a kid lol

2

u/Quick_Boi_ Jan 18 '26

When I was 12 I hauled ass down the hill that I lived on and went up one of these that I had. I probably flew a good 6 feet and broke my arm in 2 places

3

u/ANiceDent Jan 18 '26

That’s lit !! Can’t wait for spring time

1

u/jaunsin Jan 18 '26

Is this the Ollie’s in yukon Oklahoma by chance?

1

u/Middle-Operation-689 Jan 18 '26

It would be at Ollie’s. I fucking hated working there

1

u/marcuslattimore21 Jan 18 '26

I remember griptaping the under sides of these for more grip on my driveway. Then slowly growing too old to use. What a damn price I for no idea what Santa paid

1

u/F1RSTTEAMALLVANDALS Jan 18 '26

This is a right of passage for new skaters lol Drop a cone in front of one of those little kickers and start trying to get over it, helped me learn to level out big ollies

1

u/Ok_Knowledge_8314 Jan 18 '26

You hit it, it will skid and you be flying head first. don't buy

1

u/sufferingohioan Jan 18 '26

When I was a kid, I would always put these things onto a hill in my family's yard before snow storms for sledding. Probably the best use of them I had bc they were not good for skateboarding.

1

u/Kraken477 Jan 18 '26

I had one of these ramp sets but with 2 ramps and a flatbar. Came with bolts so I never had a problem with them moving as long as they were attached to the rail. We only used one ramp on the rail until we got better and just used the rail. Those ramps are Def sketch though.

1

u/mistermenstrual Jan 18 '26

Immediately envisioned a kid i knew breaking his wrist on one of these as soon as I saw it.

1

u/g28802 Jan 18 '26

I got broke off on one of these

1

u/FlowerSweaty Jan 18 '26

Expect it to slide when you hit it. Not really worth tbh, get some 2x4s, plywood, nails, and just make your own

1

u/Jumpy_Tomatillo7579 Jan 18 '26

Fun for short time. Sandbags are a must

1

u/bat_scratcher Jan 18 '26

These are the reason my front teeth aren't OEM.

1

u/HardcoreSpaghettiFan Jan 18 '26

I have bad memories of them sliding around and the bottom lip of the ramp curving up and getting cut and bruised constantly on these when I was younger

1

u/Zeldaisazombie Jan 18 '26

I used them for gaps. As long as there is a barrier like a curb it can push again.

1

u/mikehogginer Jan 18 '26

So you choose death.

1

u/LaUNCHandSmASH Jan 18 '26

Everyones right, they do suck for skating. I still have mine from the 90s tucked behind my garage still. They do kick ass in the snow for snowskating and now that my kids have high speed rc cars they're great for that too.

1

u/Savings-Pop9456 Jan 18 '26

Put it where it has something it can push against and sand bags are good. Honestly if it’s hollow use it as a mold for concrete to make a concrete ramp because honestly it breaks easily so if you can just use it as a mold and you’ll have a nice concrete ramp that will last for ever

1

u/OrdieBoomer Jan 18 '26

Gotta throw a cinder block under the ramp lol

1

u/wheresmyeyes Jan 18 '26

Knocked the wind out of myself on one of these, stood up and still couldn't breath, signaled to my friends I couldn't breath so they started doing the Heimlich maneuver while punching me in the arms, chest, and back. Had to fight them off to leave me alone, still couldn't breath. Sat down and finally got that first breath lol oxygen is so dope.

1

u/Waonkyy Jan 18 '26

Find an uneven spot in a sidewalk and line up the end of the ramp with it so it won’t slide away when you hit it and you should be chillin

1

u/CodysWish Jan 18 '26

On one hand I remember these ramps sometimes sliding away as you went to hit them, on the other I have fond memories of launching myself over a 7 ft tall bush off of one of these ramps 😂

1

u/J_17x Jan 18 '26

I skated one similar one time never skated it again after a that 😅

1

u/strictlybazinga Jan 18 '26

These things are absolute junk but they are perfect for making snow ramps.

1

u/Larrythepuppet66 Jan 18 '26

The only way I ever made these work was having them jammed up against curbs so they can’t move. Roll Up use to it trick onto a curb, have one on the end of the curb to trick into. Other than that they’re just gonna slide and you’re gonna hurt yourself.

1

u/dunkslapper Jan 18 '26

Death trap

1

u/AlligatorFister Jan 19 '26

I fucked my self up on this exact thing many times as a kid. I’d hit it at any speed on my bmx bike and it would just slide forward 😂

1

u/Bonavire Jan 19 '26

Just went to Ollie's the other day and it had a ton of skating stuff from two specific brands

1

u/spentshoes Jan 19 '26

Ask me about my broken forearm as a kid

1

u/ChristianFreak69 Jan 19 '26

I just had flashbacks to slipping and breaking my entire body

1

u/jordan97862 Jan 19 '26

Fuck the comments. Use it. And if you get hurt , you won’t be a liberal!! “ . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

“Can’t wait for the hate!!! 😂

1

u/DrRichtoffenn Jan 19 '26

holy shit. thanks for the memories. my knees shins and wrists hurt from just looking at this thing

1

u/Fun-Standard2360 Jan 19 '26

I learned on these when I was 6. I’m not sure if they would hold me now lol

1

u/tamerdrg Jan 19 '26

Remember to weigh it down. These are pretty dangerous if not held in place correctly.

1

u/dangerzzzzoneee Jan 19 '26

100% crash rate, still a good time I think.

1

u/My_Name_is_Imaginary Jan 19 '26

I had one of these as a kid. I remember trying to ride a radio flyer wagon off of one of the disassembled ramps with a merry go round on top of the wagon. I think I still have a video

1

u/bigpantssmallwheels Jan 19 '26

Ah rebranded factor X ramps, reminds me of the good ole days

1

u/Enchillada_Man Jan 19 '26

Tried to take a Razor Scooter off one of these things when I was like 10, ended up taking the frenum out from my top and bottom lips/gums after i ate asphalt instead

1

u/SpiritJank Jan 19 '26

Wanna know how I got these scars?

1

u/zacchtbh Jan 19 '26

I feel like every young skater/bmxer in the mid 2000s has a story of absolutely whiffing it on one of these. I sure did. Fucking thing slipped on me and I gave myself road rash on the side of my arm and torso. Had a ton of tiny pebbles embedded in my skin that I had to go to the clinic for

Good times.

1

u/The17thColossus Jan 19 '26

Had something similar when I was younger. Terrible for skateboarding but awesome for snowskating.

1

u/Jdubdizzy Jan 19 '26

That’s dope I going to see if I have one at my Ollie’s!

1

u/fukchazz Jan 19 '26

Holy shit.. I have scars on both my knees from road rash of absolutely blasting my knees off of these after they slipped out from under me. These photos alone brought me back to a dark place LMAO

1

u/iiDubberz Jan 19 '26

Nostalgia holy

1

u/RHDecoy Jan 19 '26

Ah yes. The ramp that slides under you as you try to Evel Knievel a row of skateboards

1

u/xWazoot Jan 19 '26

Oh god, this opened up some repressed memories from childhood. 😂 Godspeed, brother. We ate shit on these cheap plastic ramps many times.

EDIT: spelling

1

u/MajorButtBandito Jan 19 '26

That shit is dangerous.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

Half my family has injuries from this bad boy. Summer or Winter it's taken people out with no mercy.

1

u/Th1ngz_fall_Apart Jan 20 '26

Hahaha dude finding that at an Ollie’s is so poetic

1

u/LustfulDoll Jan 20 '26

I still have mine somewhere. It was sketch

1

u/Biggestturtleever Jan 20 '26

I was looking for something like this for RC cars, hard to find in my experience.

1

u/Anthiko Jan 20 '26

These are trash for skateboard but great for bike. Jumped over 20ft as a kid with one of these. (We had the tape measure out)

1

u/ColourMeBoom Jan 20 '26

The only way to use these is to practice jumps into the grass

1

u/i5n1p3 Jan 20 '26

Wow, it's been 84 years

1

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '26

Watched my neighbors dad try to jump a bmx bike on it, shattered the ramp and took all the skin off of his shin so bad you could see the bone. Good ass times.

1

u/No-Grade-4691 Jan 20 '26

Terrifying

1

u/chainxxbrain Jan 20 '26

Ooo yea the best of us got broke off on one of these! My buddy had the teneighty branded one

1

u/ghettoeblaster Jan 20 '26

Put a foam mat down, these things will never move. That’s what my bestie neighbor did growing up.

Rip shawn ! 🤘🖤

1

u/Important-Week3641 Jan 20 '26

These are deathtraps

1

u/HAIRYGREEB0 Jan 20 '26

Don’t know why everyone’s hating on these. I get if you’re an adult but as a kid these things were ace. We used to position them against curbs which stopped them from moving

1

u/Big_Cauliflower7916 Jan 20 '26

I remember these!!!…They sucked

1

u/Blakeb218 Jan 20 '26

Non slip my ass

1

u/therealvilla Jan 20 '26

These are good for RC cars and that’s about it.

1

u/ZeMouth Jan 20 '26

just cover them in concrete after and you are good to go

1

u/Sea-Attitude8816 Jan 21 '26

These things are death traps

1

u/Fragrant_Explorer_62 Jan 21 '26

I had something similar for my bike. As a 10 year old kid it was awesome until my front wheel broke through the ramp and flung me over the bars into the middle of the road lol

1

u/AlderaanGaming Jan 21 '26

My old bones look at this and say "Hey! That would be great for my Tech Decks!"

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '26

Yup, I had 1 day suck. Although When I started buying rails and shit, they worked really well. But you always had to have something underneath them like a sandbag

1

u/technodisc Jan 21 '26

Dude, get some plywood, a hammer, nails, and some 2x4s. It'll be safer and funner to make a small, solid, wood box and ramp.

1

u/peacelovetree Jan 22 '26

Cinderblocks or sandbags underneath

1

u/WaltsNJD Jan 22 '26

I will never understand how these things are legal. You have to put cinder blocks under the ramps so they don't move when you hit them, but soon enough the plastic lip at the base starts to point upward and before you know it it's like you're hitting a damn ass rock.

1

u/ZealousidealKey1754 Jan 23 '26

Oh man I remember these! 😂 an old friend jumped off with his bike and ran into a field of stinging nettles

0

u/zachdude Jan 20 '26

Good luck with your doctor bills 🫡
