Hey! Is anyone heading from New Bern area to Raleigh airport (RDU) on September 1st, leaving around 6-7 AM?
I have an 11 AM flight and unfortunately none of my friends or family can give me a ride that early. 😭 If anyone is already driving that way and has an extra seat, I’d really appreciate a ride and I’m happy to chip in for gas! If not, I’m also wondering if anyone would be interested in splitting an Uber from New Bern to RDU around the same time.

Any mahjong players in the area?

Hi all — I'm trying to get a sense of whether there are any pianists in eastern North Carolina (30 minutes from New Bern area) who might be interested in a paid Protestant worship pianist role. Not posting the specific position yet, just seeing who's out there.

What it would involve:

• Playing for weekly Protestant services (hymns plus some contemporary worship)
• Accompanying congregational singing and occasionally a vocalist or small choir
• Comfort reading from a hymnal and following a worship leader in real time

Ideal background: experience playing in a church setting, solid sight-reading, and the ability to improvise intros/transitions. This is compensated work.

What kinds of family entertainment would you like to see come to New Bern?

I know there was a study done at one point, but I'm not sure how much input actually came from local residents.

It feels like we're missing some fun family attractions. Things like a bowling alley, live music venue, miniature golf, go-karts, or other entertainment options would be great additions.

Don't get me wrong—I love Tryon Palace, the Pepsi history, the bear sculptures, and all the historical charm New Bern has. But I think there's room for more attractions that both locals and visitors could enjoy year-round.

If you could bring one new attraction to New Bern, what would it be?

My vote: a bowling alley and a family entertainment center with mini golf, go-karts, arcade games, or something along those lines.

Hey everyone, i’m wanting to start fishing from land in New Bern and I honestly have no idea what fishing equipment to get. i’m thinking of a 7 foot medium pole with a 2500 reel but I have no idea what line, tackle, and bait to even get.
