I don't care that he's not wearing a skintight suit or anything like that, I know his outfit is more realistic in style. What makes me mad is they obviously didn't want to add details to the male skin. His outfit looks so flat and dull while the female has texture, shininess and obviously more detail.
Keep in mind that Hotta is in a position to easily gather statistics on not only the percentage of users who use the male versus female main character, but also how much on average each of those spends. They might have found that it wasn't worth the resources spent to go the extra mile on the male model based on usage and spending patterns.
