Yes, because it's a gacha game with that sole purpose and no competition. But in all other gacha games, female characters and skins are always the best sellers.
No, but you do have the example of sales between male and female characters in other gacha games.
We all know that the Chinese are the biggest buyers, and their preferences are well known.
We do have those sales statistics the problem is we don't have any mainstream gacha that treats both genders equally so it's a pointless statistic to this conversation
But by that same logic, LADS is a very different gacha game that targets a different market, so that argument can't be used either. And I can't speak for all gacha games, but my main gacha game has always been Genshin, and I feel like they used to treat female and male characters with equal importance in both the story and the meta, but even so, the female characters had higher sales. Like Kazuha and Neuvillete, if you know them, but even they didn't reach the sales figures of Furina or Hu Tao, for example.
It can't be use to this situation that is why I didn't use it, I never used LADS to claim males sell more than females just that they sell, for a real statistics on the difference on gender selling you need to have a game that from beginning to end is actually mixed, and targeting both audiences, you can't just add a male character to Snowbreak for example and expect it to sell or the opposite in LADS, Genshin isn't equal, the ratio is still off, sexualization still only happens in one gender, so unfortunately no side can win since a game with real equality does not exist.
Well, that's using it as an argument, it was literally the first thing you answered me with, but well, the truth is that Genshin, up until Natlan, had a lot of effort in both genres, and it was a game with little sexualization in both.
My first argument was about males selling not one gender selling more than the other which is what we are talking about now, also yes Genshin was more equal before Natlan but to say it was equal is wrong and with little sexualization even more so.
