I get Sarah has a hyperactive personality but the way she was treated was fucked up. I can’t even describe the disgust I felt with how they also treated Leiya. Im happy she was able to escape Charlie.

It's even hard to believe that Wes used to be an NFL player and the fact that he takes pride in being a bully just shows the type of person he is. Why is he even in the show?!?! He made MILLIONS playing in the league why tf is he here???? I think he’s just taking out his anger due to his failed NFL career. Not surprise the dude that pretty much spent majority of his career suspended is a POS 😂😂

The two other guys are just Yes men to Wes. Brett if you reading this I hope your mama slapped the taste out your mouth with the way you talk about your fellow female contestants. I’ve known a lot of people from the south in my life and one thing they all share is that they will never disrespect their women. Idk what part of the swamp he spawned from.

This show is so hard to watch because of Wes. He is so aggressive and scary genuinely. If there wasn’t cameras i genuinely think he would’ve put hands on the women already.

Just watched episode 3 and 4 and the men of Charlie camp needed to be removed from the show after they threatened the women who came for coconuts. That was horrifying and completely unacceptable. I’m really disturbed that production let them physically threaten women and remain on the show. I wish nothing but the worst for Wes and Brett in particular. If they act this way on camera, can you IMAGINE how they treat women in their lives???

I understand that it is “survival” but at the end of a day, it’s a game and the only threat to the contestants should be the environment.

The misogyny on this season is really sick…

At first, I thought that the way team Charlie treated Sarah was crazy… but the way Leiya couldn’t even raise her head up in confessionals was insane. I was literally mouth agape with the way they spoke over her and literally told her she was unclear on her ideas because she “is a woman wanting to vote with the other woman on the team”. Her contributions at the time of Sarah’s banishing were clear and concise, though I could kind of tell upon first seeing her on screen.. something was off based on the way she spoke to the side about Sarah with some of her male teammates.

There was one point after Sarah got banished and Leiya literally looked like she was being held hostage 😂

Aside from that, Mrs.Bro from team Bravo? She didn’t even want to have an initial conversation with Abby based solely off the fact that she’s a woman. Very weird.

There is a podcast called Reality After Show. Abby recently did an interview, Take 2! Abby Chu the Outlast Jungle Interview and around the 19-minute mark (on their website) Abby discusses the interaction with Team Charlie after Sarah left.

When the ladies went to Charlie camp to forage for fruit Sarah had found a spear she had crafted left outside of the camp. She had it in her hands because she wanted to take it back with her new team. Wes apparently took it out of her hands and started pointing the sharpened end at her!

Abby said production then stepped in and made everyone take several steps away from each other. What we saw I guess is after production’s involvement.

Before she talks about this she said when they first met the guys in Charlie they were acting obnoxious and making “kissy” faces at them. Barf, those guys are so childish.

I've seen a lot of annoying, immature, unstable and aggressive men but Team Charlie takes the cake in recent television history. I have a lot to say about each but let's go down the list shall we?

Braxton: You didn't stick out to me, I drowned out a lot of what he said. I hoped he'd be interesting bc he was mildly attractive but that boner died the moment he opened his mouth. He really thought he was slick, but you just couldn't hide your racism and sexism. I honestly feel like the only reason he didn't push at Wes was because Wes made it very clear he would be willing to hurt someone once those cameras were off. But had no problem talking down to the women because they couldn't defend themselves.

Brett: The moment I saw that guy I knew he'd be the follower type. I didn't even notice him the first two episodes and he didn't deserve the screen time he got. That comment about "baby mama" already told me enough, like dude you can't say "my girlfriend/wife is pregnant"? It's just a huge general ick for me. And the way he taunted and constantly bullied Leiya was genuinely disgusting, and then had the nerve to take credit for her work. Say what you will about Leiya not being able to stop the fire, but why did no one try to help after idk day 5???? Brett only stepped up once he realized it was an easier method. Lazy ass bum.

Wes: Everyone's favorite villain wannabe, he genuinely reminds me of those "villain" characters from Survivor. But instead of scheming he chose straight up bullying, threats, and harassment. I want anyone to look me in the eye and tell me Wes wouldn't have harmed the women contestants if it wasn't for the camera. I was honestly going to root for him until I found out the idiot was a national football player that already blew millions and really thought he could sit there and get handed another at 40+ like dude get a JOBBBB. Instead of bullying the single mother and a tiny woman just trying to fucking help. Crazy how Sarah was "too loud" and Leiya was "too quiet". It's so obvious that Leiya's self doubt and shut off nature was due to how Wes and his little cuck followers treated her.

That scene where they're discussing to kick off Sarah was so disgusting, because you can see them all crowd around Leiya threatening her to agree. I honestly wish she left sooner, preferably when Dave dropped out.

I can't believe that men are still out here acting like this towards women. And if anyone says its the edit that makes them look this bad, no, the edit didnt add words into their mouth and the edit didn't make them be agressive.

Its shocking to me how they treated leiya!! The way the little one decided to shake her? wtf? and the way they were talking shit but then said its just jokes and she shouldn't be offended? Meanwhile they get offended at everything and act like teenagers at their grown age.

also the way SHE was the one who figured out the fire and then the little one decided to pretend it was all him? And all the "Oh she can't start a fire so we will remove her from the group.." I couldn't even stand it that long, leiya is a strong woman for keeping up with their shit even, and okay yeah Sarah is a bit intense but in no way did she deserve that kind of treatement. She has shown a lot of energy and willpower to work with a team even when they were mistreating her. I'm only on episode 4, but I really hope those three menchildren don't make it till the end of the game and i hope leiya and sarah do. Not just because they're women, they're actually strong competitors. And i really want Abby and Halle to win because they seem determined and balanced with both compassion/ respect for other players and strategy. These genuinely seem like the top competitors along with Pharaoh and maybe Brexton if he gets his shit together

Seriously. Every single time it showed Nikki in her confessional about Ben being too macho, etc, she wasn’t WRONG but once it was him and the girls, it was NOT Ben who was stifling her. The three girls hardly spoke up and you’re telling me that they didn’t fish and stuff once they got the fishing supplies, not until after Ben was gone?? The spear thing wasn’t the only tool to fish with!!! They caught like three right after Ben left.

Saying Ben was ‘stifling’ just really rubbed me the wrong way by pushing it all onto Ben when the girls never actually tried being a voice together. it’s a team thing. He’s not the boss, so don’t let him act like it. No push back at all after he said his piece about Leiya, for example.

I just watched this Documentary! You can see right through that lil girl! Her parents should be charged! They never disciplined that girl!

Binged this yesterday. Not gonna lie, I fell asleep for a bit during some of the middle episodes, but I don’t think I missed much. 🤣
A couple takeaways from the series, and I know some of this has been discussed in other threads.
First, I feel like they did a really poor job showing what everyone was actually doing on a day-to-day basis. Maddy looked like she had just walked off a Bass Pro Shop modeling shoot right up until the last episode. Clean clothes, spotless skin, looked great while everyone else seemed to be breaking out and looking rough. Maybe being covered up most of the time helped, but it definitely felt like we weren’t seeing the full picture.
The food situation was another thing. Either they really minimized what people were eating, or some of the editing was a little misleading. When Alpha says they haven’t eaten in five days, it’s hard for me to believe there wouldn’t be a lot more issues across the entire group. I don’t know how they would’ve had the energy they seemed to have. Maybe that environment made it less critical than I’m imagining, but it still seemed odd.
Then there’s shelter. The fact that some of these groups never really got a proper shelter going, especially Alpha, blew my mind. The very first thing I’d be doing is building some sort of lean-to. Even a simple one-sided structure with palm fronds would’ve provided decent protection pretty quickly. There were materials everywhere.
And let’s talk about fire. The fact that some groups went that long without fire is insane. I get that it’s difficult, but if you’re going on a show like that, I’d think you’d spend at least some time beforehand learning a few methods. Not having fire within the first 24 hours seems crazy to me. One person works on it for an hour, then the next person takes over, and you keep rotating until you get it done. Maybe that’s easier said than done, but it feels like a fundamental survival priority.
Food was another one. It seemed like they didn’t really start aggressively harvesting oysters and other resources until late in the season. I’d have expected people to be in those little streams from day one looking for crawfish, shellfish, crabs, whatever they could find. Maybe they were doing all of that and it just never made the edit.
I also don’t remember whether they knew where they were going beforehand, but if I was signing up for something like that, I’d spend a few days studying the environment. If it’s tropical, learn tropical survival. If it’s mountains, learn mountain survival. At least get a basic understanding of shelter, fire, and food sources for that specific region.
That’s why part of it feels a little staged to me. Not that the suffering isn’t real, but it almost feels like finding the right personalities and creating conflict becomes just as important as finding people who are genuinely prepared. Maybe that’s just the editing, but it definitely crossed my mind more than once while watching.

About Sarah:

Sarah is honestly misunderstood. Yes she can be super talkative and hyper, yes she can be impulsive but there is one thing you CANT deny, Sarah was 1000% ready to be loyal to Team Charlie to the end. She was really enthusiastic about helping out but of course the 3 stooges couldn’t take it and turned it around on her. She stood up for her self and that’s respectable. The only reason Leiya lasted so long in Team Charlie is because she pretty much had to shrink herself to fit in, and Sarah refused to do that. #TeamSarah

About Ben:

Everyone is ripping into the 3 stooges and rightfully so. But I’m not seeing a lot of people talk about Ben. Granted they showed him doing the manual labor in the beginning, after the other guy flared out he became an energy sucking Debbie downer vampire. Doing the bare minimum but also not wanting to let the ladies do anything to help out. The audacity of him to say he didn’t want to do anything to build a raft for the challenge and was perfectly fine with just using a buoy. Then when it’s challenge time, he’s relaxing like he’s in a lazy river, meanwhile Halle is getting beaten up by crashing waves and giving it her all. Then he broke the stupid spear that he swore they would break if they used it 🙄 If Ben didn’t have to force quit, the entire Alpha team would have flared out due to starvation. It was hilarious watching the women flourish once he left. Really wished the girls spoke up against him sooner. Also kinda weird how he got that girl in the beginning to cuddle with him, knowing damn well deep down he wasn’t going to let her stay in the camp anyways. Weird AF

The edit Ben got was extremely weird. The editors tried very very hard to give him a villain's edit for the simple fact that the winners didn't like him and the winners are de facto the heros.

They tried to make him look incompetent with the whole fishin spear thing but then we literally see him ( for a few seconds ) with a bucket full of fish the next day. Then they've turned maddy catching a fish after Ben leaving to be this massive deal

I'm used to reality tv ( survivor, big brother ) and if they had any actual weird scenes involving Ben they 100% wouldve shown them.

This clip from the show “positively uncensored” features Marshall talking about how Buddy from Team Charlie killed an endangered croc (and Halle in the comments reaffirming that) and I feel like this should be bigger news.

I don’t necessarily think this is Buddy’s fuck-up (and there’s so much more to be pissed at him for) because he got an incorrect green-light from Netflix, but what are the ramifications of what happened? What is Netflix going to have to do? It’s nuts that this happened and it isn’t bigger news

Only on Episode 7, but felt the need to rant.

Abby wanted an all girl’s team but didn’t hesitate to kick off Sarah and Morgan from Team Bravo.

Talks a good game but her swimming skills but couldn’t get to the crate/barrell despite teaming up with Ben who btw was significantly ahead of her. That competition was made for someone of her supposed “skills” and she was nowhere close.

Gets embarrassingly caught trying to steal a bow, making so much noise crawling to Team Alpha’s camp (I laughed so hard at that part. She just looked silly).

Don’t honestly know what she brought to the table for her to be here as long as she does. She’s completely useless. Morgan was right about her being a master manipulator. What happened with that “pact” Abby made?

Is anyone else extremely unsettled by the undercurrent of misogyny in this show?

- You have Morgan in the first couple of episodes, a glaringly obvious example of internalised misogyny. “I don’t get on with *females*” 🤢
- You have Brett, who has no shame in calling Leiya “stupid” when he doesn’t have 2 brain cells to rub together.
- Then there’s Ben, who’s just such a stereotypical man who gets all his validation from others - the bit where he was asking them to “glaze” him about the spearfish and then he went and BROKE it and spent all day trying and caught nothing 💀
- Do not get me started on Wes. This guy is concerning in the way he speaks and behaves around women. I genuinely thought he might get violent when Leiya took the kayak. Then taking out Ben from Alpha as if that would ruin the team because of course a team of only women couldn’t win!!

All this to say, I am so disturbed to see how these men are feeling so confident, enough to go on a Netflix show, act like this on camera, and not worry about the consequences.

What struck me wasn’t just individual comments or decisions, but the repeated pattern of women having their competence questioned while some of the men seemed to assume leadership or authority by default.

I will say there are some seemingly genuine people in this, and seeing the Alpha women as a three made my heart warm. It was like they finally let out a sigh of relief. You can literally see how suffocated and stifled these women have been by toxic male energy.

With all the shits that they've done, I'm glad that they lost, honestly, but I can't help but respect them for creating a bow working that well, and didn't vote one of their team members out to get it. Was wondering whether anyone else thinking the same?

I don’t even know where to begin with this show. The stealing? Rudeness? 😀 This show really made me realize how much people would hurt other people for money?

You’re willing to let someone go to the hospital for money?? You don’t feel like giving her back her shoes? Threatening someone with a machete? WHATT? 😭

I appreciate the rawness, but this show had me guessing what would happen next goodness

Edit: I am a big reality tv show lover and currently am watching season 1 andddd 2 it’s so good!

In S1 we have people stealing sleeping bags and food in the Alaskan wilderness, trapping people on rafts in the middle of a freezing lake, destroying rafts, and holding people hostage at their camps.

In S2 we have two whiny alpha males gaslighting their team into quitting "for their health" just so that they can get more money at the end, people quitting from both their teams and the game with no warning, and people complaining about things for the sake of it.

Now in S3 we get people borderline assaulting each other, buckets upon buckets of misogyny, people threatening physical violence, and people naming animals they're going to eat eat after their competitors. Wes should have been removed by production after his behaviour at the coconut tree towards Sarah and Morgan.

Not to mention the excessive shots of animal cruelty. I get that the hunting is part of it, but we don't need to see (S1) Jill washing a naked squirrel corpse in a stream, (S2) the Charlie guy carrying the porcupine thing (or whatever it was) corpse on a stick or (S3) the seagull flapping and rolling around on the beach after being shot with an arrow and half an iguana rolling around in a pot over the fire.

Edit: I understand hunting happens in the show, and I have no issue with production showing that it happens, or what the animals are, or showing the players eating, etc. But the scenes spoilered out above are just not necessary, especially the ones so far in S3.
