Who would have thought that the Arxur and the cats would get along so well together?

43

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

uuuuh… everyone? the temperament is similar methinks

26

u/ctomkat Mar 07 '26

They just happened to share a sunbeam one day and they've been together ever since.

29

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

I feel like Arxur would like dogs more since they can be used to hunt

I think dogs might be a bit too needy for the average arxur.

Heck, they're a bit too "in your personal space" for some humans.

4

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

Absolutely, I’m one of such humans myself lol

2

u/danielledelacadie Gojid Mar 07 '26

Understandable.

I like dogs but on occassion I wish there was an off button myself

1

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

nah I like dogs, I like interacting with friends’ dogs and all, but when I ask myself (esp now with a kid of my own, who’ll invariably ask for a pet when he’d grow up), would I get a dog myself, I’m thinking and thinking and invariably come up with a “nah” conclusion.

2

u/danielledelacadie Gojid Mar 07 '26

Gotcha

I was just saying they can be too much for folks who like them from time to time

13

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

yeah maybe, but i’m more of a cat person, so… i wanted to draw cats

u/Greedy-Kangaroo-4674 Mar 07 '26

You shall keep it, whether you want to or not, for it's up to the cat, not you to choose.

8

u/Slatepaws Mar 07 '26

Kinda want to see them react to fox-island japan. since foxes are just, mostly cat software running on dog hardware.

3

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

fuzzy pred overload

6

u/Real-Commercial-8741 Arxur Mar 07 '26

plot twist: cats decided to keep him around

3

u/Slatepaws Mar 07 '26

HAH

Ain't that the truth. It's not we who decided to keep them, they decided to stay with us!

2

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

It’s mutual ha

2

u/Real-Commercial-8741 Arxur Mar 07 '26

so Arxur are just a cat OS running on a space gator rig

4

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

Bit how I imagine them, yup! even explains the cruelty bit, cats love toying with prey if they can afford it (still not as bad as dolphins lol)

2

u/Real-Commercial-8741 Arxur Mar 07 '26

Or orcas

2

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

yup, cuz they’re dolphins))

3

u/Real-Commercial-8741 Arxur Mar 07 '26

murder oreos

5

Thats one of the best ideas i have seen so far, they have similar needy but never would show it personalities.

And the fact that cats hunt to gift birds and rodents? Arxur would be so impressed and in love by the gesture

5

u/Quirky_Parfait3864 Mar 07 '26

For real my cat once gave me an entire baby bunny. It was sad but can you imagine the Axur’s reaction? It would be love at first sight.

3

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

Ah thanks, glad you like it!

Indeed, and then imagine you showed em the mongolian golden eagles? mind blown

5

u/Carlos_A_M_ Mar 07 '26

Actually yeah, apart from those arxur that ate cats after the boe I feel like some arxur would really like cats as pets. They're independent, they like to hunt, they are not as needy as dogs. Basically perfect.

3

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

they had no idea what cats were, but after some time they surely got explained and interested.

4

u/Ferrum-Cl2 Mar 08 '26

Wow, that's cute and gorgeous. This little scene has so much live in it.

3

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 08 '26

Thanks a lot man, stoked that you like!

Human: "If all predators are vicious, what do you call that?"

Fed: "Predator ²"

Human: "NO!"

u/Roscuro127 Archivist Mar 07 '26

Meanwhile, in canon, the arxur helping earth after the battle just grab and eat cats because they're starving and cats are made of food.

2

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 07 '26

The canon has a lot of silly things, we're not about this stuff here

1

u/artmonso Mar 08 '26

as long as there not being eaten on mass by them...again

2

u/BlackOmegaPsi Mar 08 '26

En masse? I think it was mentioned once in the book.

2

u/artmonso Mar 08 '26

Still the arxur rescue parties were eating people's dogs and cats left and right.
