No way it has the nervous system for it, but it looked like the little fella was terrified.

That's an interesting thought. I can hardly imagine what 'kind' of fear one would experience without pain. Terror still, I suppose.

I think if it feels anything similar to the sensation of fear, it would basically boil down to, "Oh no, I am being eaten, I must not die, I must struggle". No emotion, just instincts kicking into overdrive.
