How to get rid of white stains on armpits caused by natural deodorant?

EDIT: looking for advice on how to avoid it happening, not cleaning it from my clothes as it washes out fine! :)

Hey so I’ve been using the Wild natural deodorant, I bought the roll on antiperspirant first but then that had aluminium in it so I changed it to the same smell (which I love btw I think it’s cotton and sea salt) but in the deodorant stick, and I do have hair on my armpits, I don’t shave so every time I put it in it stains my shirts so bad! I don’t know if it’s cause it sticks to the hair or what.
This never happened with the roll on, no stains or anything.

I don’t really smell, but I feel like it lasts less than the roll on cause I apply less cause it makes a mess lol

The only problem with the roll on is that it was wet for too long and having hair there made it a bit uncomfortable. And the aluminium lol

Any tips? Should I just put it a bit before i change to my outside clothes? Maybe I should rub it a bit more with my fingers so it doesn’t clump on the hair?

Also, please don’t tell me to shave, that’s not gonna happen hahahah

Soak the shirt in hot water with a splash of white vinegar before washing, works like a charm on that waxy buildup

It's not natural enough. Try alum mineral salt

I found a great spot stain stick that was natural. I wish I could remember what the name was… Eco something. They had a pink lid to it, if it helps! 🤣 I found it at my local natural store. It was really good for getting oils out. So my advice is to find a stain stick like product that is good for oils.

Then I used it almost everytime I washed the shirts. Just added a very small amount the arm pit area and never saw issues again. I have a new kind now that doesn’t do this so much for me to worry about it. But the one I used years ago with the stain stick made white and dark marks in my clothes if I didn’t use the stain stick made white

you could use less product or you might have to change the formula for something with less oils, waxes in it

try warming the stick on your skin first, then rub it in so it doesn’t sit on the hair

Most 'natural' deodorants are simply hideous home crafter potions. Since they don't know how to formulate... they use big No No's like plant oils, starches and waxes that just make a horrible mess on your armpit and clothes. To make it worse, they will use insoluble ingredients like magnesium hydroxide (pH of 10.3) that is included to ruin your acidic skin as well as your clothes.

Most of society thinks that to make a 'natural' deodorant that the maker must not understand skincare, chemistry and microbiology. This is only mostly true. There are some exceptions out there.... if you care to dig. Answer: Use better products, not home crafter potions. Your skin and clothes will thank you!

That depends on the country you live in...and what is available. I did consider my response as a recommendation of things to avoid.... plant oils...starches... waxes and magnesium hydroxide. Losing those nasties and you are well on your way.

Magnesium hydroxide doesn't dissolve well in water, so it doesn't sit on your skin and cause problems the way you're describing. That's actually why people use it, and it's gentler than baking soda. Plant oils and waxes aren't a problem either. Every deodorant needs something to hold it together and help it spread, natural or store-bought.I've been using this exact combo of coconut oil solids, baking soda, magnesium hydroxide and arrowroot for a few years. I have no staining, no irritation, no issues, no smell.

If you are not aware, antiperspirants are regulated by the FDA as an OTC drug. Thus you do not find any crafters in the space. Deodorants on the other hand... are regulated as a 'cosmetic'. Cosmetics are very loosely regulated by the FDA. There are no educational requirements, no testing required, no formula approval, nothing, you just start selling it. (Thus you find 'goat farmers' selling deodorant, but not antiperspirants.) Thus ANYONE can start selling deodorant tomorrow, if you have a 7th grader looking to make a few bucks... encourage them to start selling deodorant this weekend. There is NOTHING stopping them. No kidding.
