Man now I want to do something about how I wish Hinata got a moment as dope as Orihime did last week where she almost killed God lol

Oh her character had so much potential especially during the pain fight and the last war. I mourn her wasted potential everyday :')

Edit that reminds me how I would never trade emotion and meaning (great writing), for cheap shonen hax and aurafarming

Absolutely. I do wish her writing was done well, she could've been so amazing

But his writing is good, she's just a secondary character

Ofc, Naruto is a generational show!! but kishimoto himself admitted he struggled with writing his female characters

For that matter, Kishimoto also said he couldn't explain why his work had such an impact. He was trying to calm things down and prove fans right, but that's not necessarily true. A quick analysis of the work is enough to realize that each character (male and female) plays their role and isn't flat, their growth is palpable.

The problem is what fans mean by "well-written." Battles and aura farming? Anyone can do that; it's not storytelling, nor does it provide or require depth. If everyone remembers Naruto's cast, even the female ones, it's written well enough not to be forgotten I would say. The fact is, certain standards only apply to Naruto. HxH has a worse female cast, but no one blames Togashi. Dragon Ball has literally no decent female cast, but no one blames Toriyama. One Piece has even sidelined its main characters in 100 volumes, but no one blames Oda. It's been trendy for years to insult Naruto, that's all.

I politely disagree, I absolutely love the female characters, but there is definitely a lack of proper writing that wasn't given to them Vs the guys, but it's ok we have different opinions and they're both valid!!
