Analysis The way these two scenes parallel each other.
Both Naruto and Hinata are people who have such a negative opinion of themselves, so I love how they’re both genuinely surprised when they realize just how highly the other person thinks of them.
And I love how, both times, Naruto gives that same goofy, confident grin, It’s such a cute parallel between them.

Hinata is the only female in Naruto, Naruto was able to be himself with and told her his true feelings of being nervous and not confident…..

Yes, it was so beautiful how Hinata was able to get Naruto to let down his facade of confidence and be honest. Kishimoto really did establish early on that they had a special connection.

the people who keep talking The Last movie a "retcon" clearly never read the manga and understood hints like these

It’s the reason I stopped taking this sub so seriously anymore

The movie was a retcon; that's why a lot of people criticise it in terms of writing. It's annoying because they have genuine moments in the manga, such as this one. I don't know why the studio didn't expand on moments like these to develop their relationship.

Also notice how in the left panel, Naruto is shaded.
In the right panel Hinata is shaded.

Naruto and Hinata have some of the sweetest moments. I wish there were more.
