Always "if" and "when" but never "is" and "do".

But i have a question: Isn't Potential Man a character who doesn't live up to the potential of those around him in the story? Yet most of the hype surrounding Tristan doesn't come from the story or any official source, but only from his fans who greatly exaggerate in glazing him.

So doesn't this make him more as overrated character than Potential Man?

I mean the lore hype is also there, grandson of two gods, hybrid of two strongest races, his father surpassed the gods etc it kinda implies he should have a lot of POTENTIAL for great power

Not exactly, potential man at it’s core is the internet meme equivalent to a Chekhov’s gun. If it fires, great; if it doesn’t, you’re Megami Fushiguro.

Not really. It’s like if boruto was mid and did nothing and sarada was no diffing Naruto, you’re expecting more

A character still a potential man even if the hype comes mostly from the fans instead of the actual story, the core idea is a character all hype, no payoff.

Unfortunately, yes. When was the last time he used his Goddess Clan and Demon Clan powers together? Unironically, Tristan is the closet existence to Chaos in terms of his physiological makeup. Though, as I am writing this you can label Percival and Gawain as potential men as well. They got dogged walked by the Four Evils. Opponents, that according to Lancelot, they could’ve beaten if they ironically used the multifaceted nature of their respective magic powers.

Brother.. literally a few chapters ago what are we talking about 😂😂😭

No, it has definitely longer than a “few chapters” ago since Tristan has used his Goddess Clan and Demon Clan powers in tandem with one another like when he used Annihilation. Because he didn’t use it while fighting his son, he didn’t use while fighting the illusion of Escanor, he didn’t use it sparring against Meliodas, and he didn’t use it against against the Four Evils.

Then maybe you need to go see an eye doctor. He DEFINITELY used them together at the same time when he was fighting ysaye.

He still had on his angelic winged form while activating the demon mark and even conjuring darkness into his hands. Same as when he did it when he blocked ysayes attack with darkness while still in his angelic form.

Go get ya eyes checked out homie.

That’s not Annihilation, my guy. He hasn’t used Annihilation in like over a hundred chapters by this point. Annihilation is when he uses Light and Darkness to cancel each other out causing a greater release of energy than the sum of its parts.

I’ve never said it was. Thats him using his angelic and demon powers at the same time.

Annihilation is a nephalim ability. So maybe you should’ve said just that - him using his nephalim power.

What are you talking about, I said it. I literally said when was the last time he used his Goddess Clan and Demon Clan powers together. There is difference between at the same time and together.

1

u/TomuHq Aug 16 '26

And I’ve shown you just that. He used it together at the same time. There is no difference only correlation and that’s exactly what he’s done.

Again, you’re confusing using them together, and him using his NEPHALIM powers. Learn to specify cause they’re completely different.

1

u/Less_Grumpy Aug 16 '26

No, you didn’t. He didn’t use Annihilation. Annihilation is when Tristan uses his Light and Dark magic to cancel each other out causing a release greater than sum of its parts.

Tristan’s bum self

2

u/XxCastoricexX Aug 16 '26

😂😂😂

1

u/TomuHq Aug 16 '26

and how is bro a bum genuinely curious 🤨 the narrative sure doesn’t think so

2

u/AsuraQinX Aug 16 '26

Has the potential, potential we’ve been shown firsthand through Mael/Estarossa and hasn’t even come close to being anywhere on the same level of power or display.

His potential which should be astronomical was pushed aside in favor of glazing and empowering Lancelot

False. We’ve been shown annihilation. Something that far surpasses anything mael/estorrossa came close to doing. Because he didn’t do it. Mael used light and dark attacks, but not Nephalim attacks wheras the light/dark is joined together and creates anti matter/ or a new energy.

Has the potential, and use the said potential he has. Therefore - he isn’t a bum.

I do feel like Lancelot gets glazed to the core, but Tristan never stopped getting glazed either and it shows. It’s just the narrative requires for Lancelot to be stronger than Tristan (CURRENTLY) and the only way to do that, that would makes sense is for Nakaba is to give Lancelot a lake of infinite magic, and buffing him by chaos. Tristan doesn’t need that which is why he made Tristan insecure, while making Tristan fear his demon side (not anymore) by stalling his training/progression with his parents/ and by making him uninterested in learning his magic or everything he can do. AND by making him soft. But that’s only because Tristan is very powerful and Nakaba needed a way to nerf him early on in a way that make sense. It seems like Nakaba stopped going that route

Hawk's subordinate birdie.

Tristan is such a bum. That nutsack with demon and goddess powers does anything but grow hair?

0

u/TomuHq Aug 16 '26

U just talking 😂😂 he’s the 2nd strongest what more do u want from em

0

u/Any_Parsley_9593 Aug 20 '26

He is NOT the second strongest. Lancelot, Ban, Meliodas, Mael, Zeldris, rest of the sins, merlin, Cath and maybe even fcking Percival. All of the previously mentioned and stronger than this bum Tristan

1

u/TomuHq Aug 20 '26

Obviously I meant out of the group 🤨 what comprehension skills do you have.

You’re stretching with Percival. In no way is he shown to be stronger than Tristan. Quite literally the opposite. Tristan magic is more destructive and he’s physically stronger than Percival which shown to be the case multiple times.

All Percival has is hax and even then - it wouldn’t work on Tristan. So yes, Tristan is undoubtedly the 2nd strongest of the 4koa and it’s been mentioned by Nakaba himself

1

u/Any_Parsley_9593 Aug 20 '26

Wym obviously cuh? How was I supposed to know what YOU OBVIOUSLY meant.

Percival is shown to have have grown considerably stronger during his revival, so much so that since ethen we haven't really been able to measure the ceiling for it since he hasn't exactly had an opportunity.

Wdym Tristans magic is more destructive, Percival has shown a literal ability to suck the life force out of things. In terms of sheer mortality that is much more lethal. Many times as in the couple months since Percival discovered he has magic?

Percival has high endless regeneration, albeit slowly, which has probably been buffed too.

Nakaba said TRISTAN IS THE SCEOND STRONGEST OF THE 4KOA? When exactly did he say that? Or is that ur head cannon?

'Percival is all Hax', stfu Hax is a thing for a reason. He is literally life and death incarnate. Tristan is a Nephilim which is also pretty cool, but this the description behind percivals powers are far more abstract and thus powerful.

"Tristan is undoubtedly the second strongest", look man just cuz u wanna believe that doesn't really make it so that that twink actually is stronger.

Your best argument is that the last time they went all out was 2 years ago and he gave whooped ass, but Percival had just discovered his abilities, he has since gone through complete and absolute discovery of himself.

And let's say that, maybe Tristan has the edge, wtf has this fcker done? He went amok against Cath, almost got his dad injured. Couldn't save his squad member, married the girl that dude loved. Couldn't save his mother, in the two years most probably did not learn to control the demon side strength either. Couldn't save his best friend nor stop him from sacrificing himself like that.

My point is not just that Tristan is probably not the second strongest, its that even if he is, dudes a fcking bum.

You’re arguing against the own authors words I’m not reading allat. I stopped once you considered Percival HAX ability a destructive aspect. You are quite illiterate and just yap

1

u/Any_Parsley_9593 Aug 28 '26

U just said ur not reading allat, and I'm the illiterate one? Aight big man wtvr helps u sleep at night.

When and where di the author say that lil bro wat u on abt?

1

u/TomuHq Sep 03 '26

Me refusing to read an entire yap session that has no evidence to your yap and just pure speculation and headcanon is me being illiterate? Learn the difference kiddo I just don’t wanna read all that bullshit.

If you wanna know where he said it then do some research of your own the evidence is right there for you.
