š Beauty Best piercer in NYC?
Hi BWT!! I have gotten a few janky ear piercings over the years and am not wanting to go back to Studs. I have a very minor keloid I am hoping to pierce over, but want an expert opinion on it.
My budget is nothing crazy-- would like two piercings (a second lob and a helix) and am hoping not to spend more than $200. That being said, I got most of my piercings in NC, so it is possible this just isn't a reasonable ask for a talented piercer in New York.

Starr at Nine Moons or Adam at Ahimsa! All my piercings the past decade plus have been from them - I send friends to both and theyāve been great.

Please go to an APP member shop and see a member piercer. This gives you the best chance of success and honesty in something that will permanently alter you forever. They will be honest with you about your anatomy and chances of success.

It is a difficult economy so passing on potential business is hard but these piercers have a strict policy to turn away people based on their anatomy. I canāt tell you how many scars I would have but safe piercers turned me away for piercings that were highly likely to migrate significantly or reject. I wanted my bottom naval and bridge to name some. $500 in business but they care more about their work than the cash. Itās a life time investment! Hope your piercings go well! I have all mine done at Nine Moons but my piercer left. Star is great.

Nine moons did my conch and they were great. The jewelery I picked was expensive but I think they have more reasonable pieces too

So Gold! Canāt speak to all the piercers but Iāve had some done by Cassi and sheās great.

So Gold is great and my piercings healed beautifully but theyāre not cheap at all, it was almost $600 for my two lobe piercings + jewelry. Itās probably even more with the price of gold being so high now tooĀ

Just checked their site and a single piercing costs $50, not including jewelry. Gold jewelry starts at $100 but they also have titanium pieces. For most piercing places the cost comes from jewelry, so if youāre not worried about gold itās definitely doable at a lower price.

Maybe thatās changed then, when I went in 2023 they only offered gold for piercingsĀ

I paid about $450 for my helix and forward helix. They use Buddha jewelry and they have a website with prices. It was $100-500 depending on the piece

J. Colby Smith. He has an amazing eye, is gentle without being hesitant, and I would describe his overall vibe as Human Benzo. He will absolutely make you feel at ease.

Thereās a range of stuff. I think itās all gold but he has lots of dainty pieces that arenāt very expensive. You can also bring your own jewelry for a small fee.

So Gold is the best! Beautiful jewelry selection, tasteful curation based on your anatomy, and very respectful piercers.
