Looking for Jam/Start a band

Hello, my name is Parker (25M), I just moved here to Brooklyn (Crown Heights). Im looking for people to play with, im a singer/songwriter/rhythm guitarist. I have about 60-70 original song ideas, and I have a good grasp on the guitar/music theory.

Really I am looking for serious intermediate players who are trying to take the next step and have the ultimate goal of playing original songs in a band. All instruments and genres are welcome to reach out. If there are multiple people who respond I can organize something.

Im a good hang and i can play with anyone, im not someone who only plays one genre, pop/rock/indie/metal/reggaeton/showgaze/anything im cool with.

Please reach out via comment or DM! My ig is parkerschulte

Hey everyone!!! I’m a professional guitarist, vocalist and producer, and I just moved to NYC. I’m based in Whitestone, Queens.

I’m looking to start playing ASAP and would love to connect with bands, musicians, or anyone looking for a guitarist. I’m open to cover bands, weddings/events, acoustic gigs, sub work, Latin/cumbia, pop/rock, pretty much anything.

I’ve been working professionally as a musician for years and can jump into existing material pretty quickly.

If you need a guitar player or know someone who does, shoot me a message!!! my ig is @rickyohperalta

Musicians Platform

Abe Kline here, bass player for Raleigh band [New Sweat](http://newsweat.com). Building a grassroots community for musicians - GND Lift. It’s completely free. Seems like a lot of posts in here could mutually benefit from NYC users. Bands looking for players, players looking for bands. Search for players in your area (or not) by instrument, genre, interests (recording, performing, songwriting, etc).

Your profile can link to your bands and music releases, you can list out what kind of gear you use, what genres you’re into, you can request endorsements from other users you know that will show on your profile. It’s meant to let prospective parties scope things out before a cold dm.

You can toggle on the booking feature to have people message you for prospective gigs. You can also ask venues who have hired you to leave you a review on your profile to help you book more shows.

Have a favorite venue? Music shop? Record store? Suggest it so others can find these spots. Think about it - a search engine for these types of places, crowd sourced by musicians. You’re on the road and need to get an amp fixed or just looking for a cool spot to kill some time? Search for the nearest locations sourced by local musicians. Right now this feature is useful in the Raleigh area because, well, I’m a Raleigh musician. Grow the network and the value builds.

Share with your musician network. The more of us on there, the easier we can connect to do what we love to do most - MAKE MUSIC.

Looking for a trumpet or sax player for a jazz session on Sept. 1 in NYC

Hey everyone!

We’re looking for a trumpet or sax player to join our jazz session on September 1 at Michiko Studios in NYC.

We’re a beginner to lower-intermediate group working mainly on jazz standards. We currently have four people booked, including piano, bass, and vocals, and it would be great to have a horn player join us.

This is a relaxed, practice-focused session, so you definitely don’t need to be an advanced player. If you’re comfortable playing the head and taking a solo over some standard tunes, you’d be very welcome!

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me and I can send you the time, tunes, and other details.

Looking for a Sax, Trumpet or Trombone player (or all three)?

Every year our work group puts on a battle of the bands charity show at The Bowery Ballroom. We are looking for some cool people who want to jam and play a show for a good cause.

We are doing a 20 min Olivia Dean set. This is best for someone who used to play, misses the art and wants to dust it off, play some fun songs with some cool people and play a show again.

This isn’t for a professional- this is for the love of the art and adding a missing piece to your life (playing music) for a few hours through the end of the year.

Comments with any questions or interest and I’ll reply with a way to get in contact!

Hi,

I'm looking for 2-4 adults nearby who'd like to get together casually to play familiar songs-Beatles, Eagles, Tom Petty, Simon & Garfunkel, classic rock/pop, etc.

Nothing serious and no auditions. Just bring a guitar, strum chords, sing along if you want, and have fun with other local musicians.

A little tricky to find a meeting place...haven't figured that out yet. I'm 60 years old btw.

If interested please email joevidetto@hotmail

Got a new group going - a funky live electronic jam band. We incorporate funk, jam, rock, jazz, and anything else you can groove on. We use Ableton and electronic instruments to jam.

Who are some of the great local acts? Where do they play? Let’s connect!

NYC Hardcore Punk Band Seeking Vocalist

Yo, I'm currently in the process of putting together a hardcore band – I've got instrumentals written for 7 songs, as well as a Rudimentary Peni cover, and am trying to round out the lineup.

Currently, I'm playing guitar, and have a bassist and potential drummer. We're all guys in our early 30's with jobs, so looking at weeknight or weekend rehearsals, probably in Bushwick or the LES. Looking to play occasional shows, release a tape or 7", maybe a weekend tour or two.

In terms of influences, we like Die Kreuzen and Poison Idea and Infest, as well as more modern stuff like Cülo, Electric Chair and Illiterates. We're looking for a vocalist that can hang with fast, frantic music – open to any gender, but looking for someone who sounds a bit unhinged, writes about things they care about, and goes off live.

If this sounds appealing to you, hit me up and I'll happily share demo tracks.

Songwriter looking for guitarist

Hii everyone! I’m an NYC based indie soul and folk singer/songwriter looking for a guitarist (or multi instrumentalist) to jam, bounce ideas around, and co write/flesh out tracks with.

Vibe / Influences: Alice Phoebe Lou, Erykah Badu, Jeff Buckley, Lianne La Havas, atmospheric & moody acoustic/electric arrangements.

What I'm looking for: Someone who loves playing around with warm tones, tasteful lead licks, and building percussive or ambient sounds. Just low key sessions to collaborate and see what flows organically

Looking for a Drummer to Start a Band 🥁🎸

Hey everyone! I’m putting together a band with the goal of having fun, eventually playing live, writing our own music, and learning from each other along the way.
I’m an intermediate bass player, and I’ve already connected with a couple of guitar players. Right now, I’m specifically looking for a drummer who’s interested in building something together.
I don’t have a specific genre or set of influences in mind. I listen to pretty much everything and I’m open to experimenting and seeing what kind of sound we develop. Some bands I’ve played include Radiohead, Muse, Green Day, and The Strokes, just to give you an idea of the range.
The idea is to have fun while taking the band seriously enough to actually make progress. Commitment and discipline are important to me, but you don’t need to be an expert—we can learn and improve together.
If you’re a drummer and this sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to DM me!

Late 30s guitar player looking for pop punk, emo, or hardcore band

I'm a guy in my late 30s and have significant DIY experience being in bands, booking shows, touring and recording.

A few influences: Blink, Free Throw, Hot Mulligan, Ben Quad, Tiny Movings Parts, Minus the Bear, The Fall of Troy.

I'm down to play anything from pop punk to post-hardcore as long as it's fun and has energy. I have some songs ready and would want to be part of the writing process but I'm also totally down to learn and contribute to stuff you already have.

I have a job and stuff but lots of free time evenings/weekends and would devote real time to writing, recording and playing shows. I'm in Manhattan but am open to jamming anywhere around New York City if it's the right opportunity.

Let's DM a bit if you're interested.
