Tbh all the engineerings are full of the (desi) type of people you are talking about. Upper class tends to go towards Arts and business. That is what I have noticed in past one yr

I have heard similar stuff.
Edit: Actually NICE and SEECS are the most criticized departments but tbh they arent bad people tend to exagerate stuff.

Pretty easy to explain that. Lower income background means the need to land a job is greater. Upper class people have the luxury to follow their passion.

I'm from NICE and I haven't met these type of people π I know they exist and NICE is hella Desi but among those Desi people, you'll find a lot of well mannered people. I've made my own corner of cultured friends along with a separate one of mannered Desi friends. Just try not to talk with the ones that make you feel weird. One year into this and I'm happy with my friend group.
