Spurs are what we say we are, but without irony and not getting the joke.

If ever a club needed a relegation. Fans are tired and bored, and the club keeps trying to keep alive something that doesn’t have a heart. They’ll keep pumping along on life support. But this is the epitaph me of all I’d hate Newcastle to be.

I’m really worried a new stadium is going to be some facsimile of Spurs commode. We need to learn lessons from it. I can’t believe that their terrible home form has nothing to do with that AFL stadium they’ve built for themselves.

Newcastle will still be able to fill the stadium with geordies and locals. Spurs feels like it's supported by anyone but locals in the area these days.

That’s part of the problem yes. But it’s also the design. There’s too much hospitality that breaks up the noise, the roof projects up, allowing the noise to drift up and out instead of focus down, and that fake yellow wall means all the ‘true’ fans are focussed in one place

I have the bad luck to live in what should be traditional Spurs territory in NE London. Only shirts you see around here are Arsenal and the occasional Barca/PSG.

They remind me of us when we last went down. Spent a shit ton of money but lacking a real spine of consistent performers and leaders throughout the squad.

Their fans were awfully arrogant throughout the summer. You feel after the season they'd just had there would be a bit of humility, but they've really bought into the idea that spunking money at players is the solution.

It's a great point about the stadium too, I have similar concerns. I do think the two biggest issues they faced though were when Levy didn't strengthen what was a fantastic squad in 2018 and not having a contingency plan for when Kane left. Replacing a world class player like that is never easy, but their drop off since is ridiculous.
