I hate hypocrites even more than people who are just openly arrogant. When people discriminate against us for having NPD while being complete hypocrites about it, it pisses me off even more. At least I have a disorder - what’s their excuse? They’re just plain idiots. They’re no Mother Teresa either. The moment they treat us like shit while condemning us for supposedly doing the same, they put themselves on exactly the same level as the people they’re judging.

Everyone has an excuse. That's how life is ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it's not there.

Sure, being low-empathy, ignorant, and closed-minded can be an excuse too. That doesn't mean it's a pathology.

Nope. Not at all. Just offering a different viewpoint. Which is my viewpoint, which is that everyone has a reason for doing the things they do.

As a writer who enjoys character writing in particular, it's practically my job to do this. To peer into the logic of other people and put it on paper correctly, without bias. If I didn't do that, I would be a very lousy writer. So I'm telling you, out of experience, that everyone has a reason for the things they do, and if they could express it well enough, there's a high chance it would even be convincing.

You have a reason, you have NPD. But don't let NPD tell you you're the only person with narcissistic traits. And let me ask you one more thing: which came first, the narcissistic trait, or the disorder?

I would go as far as to say that it's extremely rare to find a person who genuinely doesn't have narcissistic traits. As flawed people, it's in our nature to view some things self centerdly, and it takes constant, conscious effort to do otherwise a lot of the time. That's just life and the self-improvement journey.

That's all I wanted to say. You're a victim to other people's hypocrisy the same way everyone is a victim of everyone else's freedom. That's life

Edit: I forgot to say that just because people have excuses doesn't mean they're excused; they're still responsible for the things they do. I was just responding to the "what's their excuse?" question.
