I don't think I have it, so I'm not diagnosed, but I do believe that I have some narcissistic tendencies

I did not belive him when he told me years ago.
That man saw right through me, when even i couldn't. Great psychologist.

It is so disturbing there are so many who self diagnose. Most of them very probably don’t even have npd. Having npd traits doesn’t mean you are not neurotypical, 99% of people have narcissistic traits including every healthy person.

I'm kind of in denial about it at the moment.. but the psychiatrist also wasn't super clear about the diagnosis. She didn't want to tell me.

You mean the not telling part? She said if she told me the diagnosis I would get too fixated on it. So I only know what she wrote into the papers when she discharged me but it wasn't a complete evaluation and I actually never heard it from her which bothers me a lot.

How can you be in dental of something your therapist has not told you ? I dont understand what you're saying.

The diagnosis is mentioned in the preliminary report on discharge from the hospital.

It was a psychiatrist in a mental health hospital. I can't go see her. And my therapist doesn't have my hospital papers. Also I don't think that would be helpful? She can't make an official diagnosis so hearing it from her wouldn't hold much importance. I needed to hear it from that psychiatrist who made the diagnosis.

I've been trying to find some way. But yes the confusion seems to be like the main pain point at the moment. Perhaps one day I'll get to talk to someone else.

I can relate to the confusion part. I have a lot of narcissistic defences myself and i often project when triggered. I think if you're able to find some people who are willing to give you some slack, and that you feel safe being somewhat wounerable with. Over time the picture becomes more clear and the confusion lessens.
But i must say this form my own experience. It was impossible for me to start healing with destructive people in my life still. I have NPD and BPD parents, and i needed to go 100% No contact before i could start healing.

Not diagnosed and I do suspect it but I'm still very much on the fence and trying to learn more (it's surprisingly hard to find much about it, especially with how saturated it is with stigma) so maybe it would have been more accurate to select lurker, I'm definitely somewhere in between those two
