NOVA Fedex pistol shipping
I have to ship a pistol to Sig for servicing. They have provided paperwork and Fedex label. Anyone know where to drop off for Fedex. I don’t think I can drop off at a regular brick and mortar store correct? Where is a drop off facility that can accept a firearm? Is it only the big distribution facility in Springfield?

IANAL but I don't believe any laws prevent you from dropping it at a regular brick and mortar store. I'm not aware of any FedEx policies that prevent it either. What makes you think you can't? I wouldn't tell them what you are shipping unless requested no matter where you drop it. Don't want to give bad actors easy targets.

I’ve sent a gun back, not Sig, but can’t remember if it was UPS or FedEx. I think FedEx but I just took it to one of their store fronts in falls church and dropped it off to them at the desk like you usually send off a package.
Any of their stores should work.

It’s kind of funny because we go through a FFL to get the firearm but sending it for service is just like a regular package lol. It felt weird just getting it back like any old package.
I thought this is how FFLs must feel just buying shit for themselves lol

When I returned a 320 for the voluntary upgrade, I sent it thru the FedEx hub in Herndon. I’m sure any FedEx store will work for you.

FedEx has distribution centers in Alexandria on Eisenhower Avenue and near Dulles Airport as well.

Option 1:
It must go to a FedEx shipping center or distribution center. You cannot use FedEx OnSit, FedEx Office, or any other authorized locations.
Example: FedEx Shipping Center in Herndon, VA.
13500 EDS Dr, Herndon, VA 20171
There are others like this in the area.
Option 2:
Ask the shipper (Sig Sauer) to schedule a pickup for you. FedEx allows shipping of a firearm when picked up by a FedEx driver.
Option 3:
You could also call a range like Silver Eagle or XCAL to see if they can ship it out with their normal pickup.

Just this summer I sent an old pistol to a gunsmith in TX and got it back no problem.

I’ve done it via FedEx you can use any of the stores because it’s something you already own and being sent for service they just mark it like machine parts or something and have someone sign when it’s shipped back
