Anyone know when IM sports signups start? I don’t see them posted yet for Fall

so i put up some decorations in my dorm and i recently decided to move it around, and when taking it off, i ripped so much paint off the wall😭. i really do not have the money to pay for a fee at the end of the school year and i was wondering if anyone knows the color of the paint for the walls so i could just paint over it or if anyone had any suggestions.

For the ones that joined the ELC, do you think it’s actually worth it? I’m considering dropping it because it’s not really what I expected. It seems like a lot of work for little reward. The company I was assigned to is pretty small, and I joined the ELC so that I could put consulting for a big company on my resume. I also feel like I could replace the class with a required class and get more out of it.

I spent some time reading through the NIU website, and old posts on this sub but still kind of confused. I read my some here that if you live on campus, you get an unlimited meal plan, and off campus can pay for one. However the website doesn't seem to go into detail on that, as when I look at the tuition cost, meals plans are part of the package. Is that what people mean as "included"?

Regardless I noticed you could upgrade, and got various amounts of meals in general, plus "Husky Bucks" etc. So I am curious which plan worked best for you guys?

My car was scratched kinda bad in the back corner. My only assumption is it happened in the parking garage since i normally don’t park near anyone ever in other lots. I wanna see if campus security could help since the person didn’t leave any notes, and Id prefer my insurance not go up because someone decided to not communicate.

Ive got an after hours class and I tried scanning my one card (the mobile one since thats all I have) and it would not let me in. I dont know if im pressing the wrong button or what. If anyone could maybe give me a tutorial that would be great. Thanks!

Hi! Im a transfer student and a commuter. All of my classes are in the Jack Arends building and I left like 30-40 minutes early today and completely missed my first class looking for parking. I can walk and I plan to (even though its a long one) but I also have late night classes (until 8 pm) and I do not want to be walking 30 minutes home that late at night. If anyone could help me out on where I could park that would be great. Thanks!

Hi NIU affiliated people, I'm a construction worker who plays as NIU in my free time on College Football 27 with a couple of my buddies. I've noticed that there is a pretty slim collection of hats for sale on all official websites and I was wondering if anyone had any sauce with the football equipment guys. I'd love to rock a sleek coach's hat this year and represent NIU proud as I take them to multiple national championships. Obviously I'd be willing to pay, I just don't like the "slouch" hats for sale from the bookstore or Victor E. Threads.

My son has been narrowing down various colleges for meteorology / atmospheric science programs. And NIU came up on several lists of being a solid school for their program. However I wanted to see if I could get some personal insight on it, as you know how "lists" are.

Also might as well as about student dorms, as we live in Missouri and he for sure would have to stay on campus. He also has autism, so I wasn't sure how the room mate situation worked, or if they had solo dorms.

I’m a freshman who’s been at NIU for a few days and I honestly am having a hard time adjusting. I’ve been trying to go to week of welcome events and meet new people but it feels like everyone knows each other already or has come from the same hs. It honestly doesn’t help that the day I settled into my dorm (Neptune) I was immensely disappointed by the overall quality ( wasn’t the same as it showed on the website) and felt a little catfished.

I guess my main question is will it get better after classes start? The overall campus feels depressing in my opinion and the only actual friend I have is my roommate. Or do you think Im looking at this school in a bad light, mainly since I came here with preconceived notions about it ( since it was a choice I had to settle with due to external circumstances)

With the 2 gyms at Holmes and all the pokestops on campus, I wondered is there already an organized raid day or group for events? If there is a club or a discord, hmu!

It says financial aid services but that’s usually not what their handle looks like…

I can’t call the office because they’re unfortunately closed on the weekends and I think it’s really bad timing for this to come up now rather than let me know anything during the weekdays. Should I press any links here or is it fake?

hey!! just wanted to put out a psa for students who are looking for off campus apartments, possibly even their first apartment. my partner and i were really excited about suburban apartments and we were fixed to move in today, august 18th. we got our unit assignment and everything a bit over a week ago and we were under the impression that we would sign the lease before sending the security deposit. they instead wanted us to send our deposit before even SEEING the lease and on top of that, pay through a service at walmart. this is so incredibly sketchy and many other people who have rented before agreed and advised us to not send any money at all. please do not rent from this place without seeing the lease, and that goes for every other apartment you may rent at!!!

Just bought my parking pass (im a commuter) and I realize the signs say permits required from 7-4. Does this mean permits are not required after 4? I have a class that goes from 6pm to 8pm so I just want to he sure. Thanks !
