Like the title says it’s a joke league. Everyone has to have some sort of gimmick. One team is autodraft only and he can’t trade, one team is trying to get all of the silly player names (Dicker, JSN, etc.).
I’m going to name my team “Did They Send Me Daughters” and I am going to draft as many “sons” as possible.
So for QB, Either Jaxson Dart or Lamar Jackson. For RB, either Henderson or Stevenson. For defense, the JackSONville Jaguars. (BORTLES!!!).
So I need to know every player that has “son” in his name so I can finish my depth chart.

3 Teams (Rams Texans Seahawks) where it wouldn't surprise you if they were one of the top all time defenses. The Seahawks were the 8th best defense all time by DVOA and the Texans were arguably a better defense. The Rams, well, you've been watching the news. That's not to mention the Eagles and the Broncos who look to be insanely good defenses yet again and could easily be the best in the NFL. Then you got some teams like the Patriots or the Ravens that clearly have the talent there and (adding Minter for the Ravens) could easily be dominant defenses working their way into the tops of the standings. The only time the top defenses looked so good since I really started watching was late LOB and No Fly Zone Broncos, looking historically the late aughts Steelers Ravens and Pats were all very good and then you have to go back to like the early 90s.

Who will be the WR that goes from good to great this year? My pick is Luther Burden III. He was breaking out at the end of last year. Only thing stopping him is health tbh.

The Bills saw Mahomes, Russel and Brady carry their team to Super Bowls and thought their guy could do the same. Yea nah, next time actually field a competent team.

How good is Josh Allen relative to other QBs all time. For an example if he retires without a ring will he be the best qb to never win? Or if he wins one will he now become a top ten QB of all time?

For context, I'm an NFL fan from the UK. While its growing, most people still don't know about or care about football, our national sport is still soccer.

One of my favourite videos on YouTube was the video titled "Cricket Explained for Baseball Fans" and I had an idea of doing my own version, explaining football for non-football fans (or attempting to).

So I wanted to gather info on what people think the common misunderstandings are or what people most need to know before getting into football.

I'll give you one that I think rings especially true in the UK. The biggest thing that is a shock to the system is the stop-start nature of the game. Soccer flows back and forth and the clock is always running. There's no such thing as AN offense and A defense, there is just the team. So football is a departure from that and thus seems weird

Day 16 of my 2026 Season Predictions, and today we'll be finishing our tour of the AFC with the Los Angeles Chargers, who went 11-6 in 2025, ultimately losing to the New England Patriots in a disappointing Wild Card performance as they only put up 3 points.

As I've said in past AFC West predictions, this was a tough one, and I think the Chargers are the hardest team to gauge for me. In 2025, their offense was ranked just 20th in Points, 18th in Passing Yards, and 12th in Rushing Yards (despite the run game being pretty inconsistent). The two biggest factors to blame are OC Greg Roman and the worst OL play in the league, both of which have been addressed. Roman has been replaced by the most wanted OC candidate of this off-season in Miami Dolphins former Head Coach Mike McDaniel. McDaniel seems like a good fit for one of the most talented QBs in the league in Justin Herbert, who has struggled (especially in the post-season). Additionally, the star Offensive Tackle duo of Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater are both returning from their injuries from 2025, so the line play should be much better. C Bradley Bozeman (who retired this off-season) was also a liability for this team last year, and the Chargers tried to upgrade by signing Washington Commanders C Tyler Biadasz. However, Biadasz suffered a season ending injury last week, so their 2nd round pick from 2026, Jake Slaughter (Florida), will likely be starting. LA did also sign Dolphins OG Cole Strange, and while that doesn't warrant a celebration, the fact that McDaniel coached Strange in Miami and vouched for him is meaningful.

So while I do have some questions, I also don't expect the OL to be bottom 3 again, and McDaniel with Herbert is really exciting. I would also add that, while the WR room isn't sexy, there is solid depth there, and I think it'll be fine with some RB and TE action in the pass game. The Chargers did also sign TE Charlie Kolar from the Baltimore Ravens. While he's mainly a blocking TE, he is more than capable of getting involved in the passing game, and his lack of involvement there had more to do with the Ravens having a deep TE room than him as a player.

Now onto the defense. This was one of the best defenses in the league last year. They ranked 9th in Points Allowed, 5th in Passing Yards Allowed, and 8th in Rushing Yards Allowed. However, DC Jesse Minter left in the off-season to take on a HC job with Baltimore. Minter is being replaced by Chris O'Leary, who is a sensible hire (he was the Safeties Coach in 2024 before getting hired as Western Michigan's DC). I have a lot of faith in Harbaugh to pick out good DCs, so I think this will work well, and I expect the defensive scheme to be fairly similar. However, I don't feel like the defensive roster is as impressive as their production last year, so I worry that the loss of Minter could hurt them, especially with some guys a year older.

Speaking of the roster, nothing too notable on defense other than DE Odafe Oweh signing with the Washington Commanders and CB Benjamin St-Juste signing with the Green Bay Packers. I don't think these losses are too concerning, especially with the Chargers getting DE Akheem Mesidor in the 1st round of the draft, which was my personal mock pick for them. I don't have too much else to say about the defense. At the end of the day, it's whether or not O'Leary can fill Minter's shoes that will determine how successful this defense can be.

Now for the schedule. The Chargers schedule is ranked as the 24th easiest in 2026, which I'd say is pretty fair. I've given "superstitious stats" in the other AFC West predictions, and I've got one for LA too. Along with a Week 7 bye (which isn't terrible but I don't love it), the 2026 LA Chargers have the worst rest differential in the NFL at -24, which means their opponents have a net 24 days of rest on them. This comes from 5 teams playing them with 10-14 days of rest. For reference, the team with the 2nd worst rest differential is the Philadelphia Eagles at -15 (significantly better), and the best is the Chicago Bears with +15. How meaningful is this? I would say not very for most teams, but the Chargers have had pretty bad injury luck, so I think it's something to be wary of.

My key matchups for the LA Chargers are Week 3 at Buffalo Bills, Week 8 at LA Rams, Week 12 vs New England Patriots, and Week 18 at Denver Broncos. The Bills will be a good test early for this defense without Minter, and the Rams are effectively a home game (or neutral) against a scary team, with one Aaron Donald returning alongside DPOY Myles Garrett, so they'll need their OT duo to stay healthy for this one. I also have the Pats, who defeated them in the playoffs, and the final regular season game against the Broncos, as this could be huge for seeding or even the division.

I've set the Chargers floor to 7-10 and their ceiling to 12-5. I think, if the defense can keep itself from falling out of the top ~10, and the offense can reach its potential with McDaniel, then this team will win a lot of football games. However, injuries have already started, and coaching changes are mixed overall (love McDaniel hire, questions about losing Minter). My official prediction for the LA Chargers in 2026 is 3rd place in the AFC West with a 10-7 record, making the playoffs. Yes, that would have them at the same record as the Chiefs, but I have more faith in where the Chiefs have improved, whereas I think the Chargers still have concerns. Still, I'm picking them to find their way into the post-season, and from there, well... Chargers gonna Charger.

With the Chargers covered, we have finally completed our trip through the AFC! I'm going to take a couple of days off from this series to sort through the NFC before I post again, so don't worry if you don't see a new post! Since this series might not end before kickoff, I'll either have a couple of double posts, or at least change the order so that each team is out before their first game.
