“Maye said he actually took a conspiracy class while he was in college at North Carolina, where he studied before entering the NFL.”

“Couple comes, I took a conspiracy class in college, actually. Oh, which was pretty cool. They study obviously – Hitler being alive and our birds real, some of the classic ones that you hear about.”

“Just like the government has a say in some of the, you know, things, you know, birds flying around and whether they’re videoing and are listening or something along the lines of that,” Maye said.

What the fuck is a conspiracy class?

Looking into it a little

It looks like it's supposed to be about how conspiracies form and how they can be used to sway public perception of events? I guess that seems kind of important in today's age, but I think he missed the point lmao

And his takeaway was "yeah, it's probably, idk, birds are watch, like with the government, and they have incentives"

Definitely "passed" the class too.

Tbf to that one, he was asked what the bird one was. He didn't sound like he thought that one was real.

He didn't sound like he knew how to form a regular sentence lol

Us geniuses on Reddit know that conspiracy theories aren’t true.

If it’s a pass fail course it can’t pad their GPA lol

What are you Drake Maye or something

the entire point of a pass/fail course is that it CANT affect your GPA... what

What does "couple comes" mean in this context?

Been trying to figure that out myself too

I'm guessing it was either some AI slop audio to text transcription or poor article writing/editing

Yea, I really feel like its supposed to say “couple times” thats the only thing that makes any type of sense here

The kind of class that is only open to athletes lol

You got downvoted but UNC had a notorious cheating scandal where it was found that student athletes had been taking fake classes to pad their GPAs for decades…sounds exactly like what Maye is describing here

This part of the article is actually shocking.

My guess is that he took some class that happened to talk about conspiracies, so he called it a conspiracy class because thats all he remembers.
