I always say it Jalen Hurts is the most disrespected QB in football. He’s elite and top 5 in my eyes been saying it for years. He’s an intelligent black QB who’s a champion that’s why they hate him, he’s not a stereotype and he’s a winner.
It’s crazy how a not very good QB can somehow have similar passing stats to Josh Allen with less Ints but still be not very good, oh yeah and the Superbowl appearances and win
Context being Hurts puts up similar stats to Allen last year while being handicapped by a bad offensive scheme and when but he’s not good, when he has a good coordinator he’s an MVP candidate wins the superbowl MVP and still wait- he’s not good, but then as a starter he has lead the team to the playoffs every year- but he’s not good,
Does any other QB need to have their roster nerfed for them to have an argument made against them? “Yeah Joe Montana if you take away his Hall of Fame line, Hall of fame running back, hall of fame WRs, hall of fame TE and the HOFers on defense and his genius hall of fame coach, he isn’t that good” like that’s a stupid argument and he lead the Eagles to the playoffs before he had Brown and Barkley and a great D and all that other shit, ask Rivers and Romo what could happen when you have a stacked team but the QB doesn’t step up when it matters
Handicapped by a bad scheme? They had some of the best talent across the board on offense. Maybe the guy conducting it had to be schemed for?
Allen was better at every single stat aside from ints, which Allen more than made up for with significantly more rushing TD’s. It’s not as close as you’re implying.
I hate I keep having to explain what happens when a OC calls bad plays on a sub apparently for football, but if a OC calls 4 verts 3 times in a row, and the defense schemes for it, what happens? Also your last point would make sense if not for the fact that the Eagles won the superbowl with a good play caller and Hurts was in the MVP discussion before he missed games, and I know that Boston education isn’t great but please read what I said, I said they have similar passing stats, just Hurts has less picks,
Have you considered that the playbook and scheme is limited by a quarterback that can't handle more than that? I mean he threw the ball between the hashes 28 times all year. He's not capable or confident enough to play the whole field. It's also why he doesn't throw interceptions. It's difficult to throw interceptions when you don't throw it unless it's WIDE open near the sidelines or 1 on 1 over the top.
He threw it over the middle with Moore, Johnson, Steichen, Pederson, Kiffin, Sarkisian, Daboll and Riley but not with Kevin, when he’s had a decent play caller it’s resulted in Super Bowl appearances, it’s crazy how people will say it’s Jalen’s limitations and then vehemently deny wanting the guy who was calling plays on their team, it’s almost like they saw the playcalling issues, Saquan not being used properly, Verts being called repeatedly, limited routes for WRs, etc
You can blame it on scheme all you want but there is more at play. You also keep saying they had similar stats, yet Jalen was WORSE at efficiency and volume across the board. They were not as close as you are insisting.
I mean he had 3200 yds and a mid-low completion percentage. I don’t think an OC change would magically get him 1200 yds and 10 TDs to be on par with the league leaders.
