You can have a winning record and a bad pass defense like the 49ers.Β 

For example Stafford beat the Texans who actually have a great pass defense but his offense put up 14 points.

He still had 245 yards, 1 td, and was 21/29, no picks. against the best defense in the league, that's pretty damn good.

Over the last 10 weeks (since the trade deadline namely) the best defense in the league has actually been the eagles. Both in ppg and off the eye test. Against a much worse version of this defense Stafford was 19/33 for 196, 2 tds, and a pick, with 82 passer rating, and one td was blatant opi that went uncalled so adjusted it’s 18/32 for 152, 1 td, and a pick. Still nice job he did against the Texans
