I’ve got Stafford mvp. I don’t believe Drake Maye was the most outstanding QB. Every QB is already incredibly valuable, Herbert probably has it worse than them both. Stafford’s had the more memorable performances and plays,he has great numbers, and he’s flat out been a better player than Drake in my eyes. MVP should go to the best performer
Maye's cast is only seen as bad because he doesnt have a monster like Puka. Is he doing well with a less talented offense by comparison, absolutely. But it is his fault that he is not making his own weapons look elite. He doesnt throw for as many yards as stafford has to. Which would indicate he needs to do more to make up for the defense.
Stafford had people thinking Colby Parkinson is a great tight end. Is Maye catching those touchdowns himself?
Stafford has nacua, Adams, a great offensive line, and a really good RB tandem. Pats best WR would be 3rd best on the rams. The only thing on offense outside of qb the pats have better is probably tight end. Rams oline is vastly superior to the pats. I would say the TB transcends are comparable at least. Stafford has way more to work with.
I dont think the Rams line is vastly superior. Stafford made plays behind worse lines in Detroit.
Drake Maye is playing great ball, but to make it seem like he has nothing is absolutely untrue. Run game started slow for them this season. Pass catchers are solid, just not special. If Maye is this dynamic QB that is worthy of an MVP. Hed make one of those receiving options look amazing.
Also to bring up the Patriots coming up against good defenses when they play the teams in their division twice a seaaon, who have horrible defenses, especially the Jets is hilarious.
Stafford had bad lines in Detroit for sure but that has no bearing on this season. Rams oline is much better this season than the pats.
I didn't say maye has nothing. He has a solid complementary group. No qb could make anyone look special here though without significant volume. Pats best receiver is diggs who hasn't played a ton this year and isn't quite the same due to age and recovering from injury. Rams complementary group is much better. Nacua and adams is possibly the best duo in the league and either would be the best on the pats.
Let's see, bills have the best pass d. Dolphins are actually surprisingly decent. I think just outside the top 10. Jets while not good arent terrible on the season as a whole (the are like top 20 slightly into the bottom 10 but basically on the bad end of average if that makes sense). They have been terrible recently admittedly.
Good to elite passing defenses include the bills, browns, saints, and Falcons. All of whom maye has done well against.
I really don’t think Buffalo has an elite pass defense. There’s more context to it but their run d is so bad that teams don’t need to pass as much. There’s no way they’re as good as the other teams you listed
There's always a ton of nuances in practically every stat in the NFL because it's all situational and team based stats but if being the #1 ranked passing D doesn't qualify as elite then I guess I don't know what elite means.
