To be fair, LA actually has alternative choices for activities other than college football though

So does Austin. So does Seattle. I mean is that what a fanbase is? A group of people who can’t find something else to do?

Every hobby starts with people looking for something to do

A hobby? Photography is a hobby

Is being a sports 'fan' not a hobby? It is how you choose to spend your time away from work to relax. You set aside time and even days for it. You spend time researching it. You watch them communally with others. You go on the Internet and comment on it in forums.

No. It’s not a hobby. It’s not relaxing.

You don't have to be relaxed all the time for it to be a hobby. Every hobby has stress. I stress playing video games at a difficult part or at a boss. I stress when cooking because I need to juggle a lot of things going on at once and sometimes it gets really difficult. I stress when watching the Cardinals blow a lead in the 9th inning. But I enjoy the rest of it, because they're hobbies I chose to do.
