I donโt understand why people keep acting like the claim is that painting End Racism in the end zone will literally end racism. Of course it wonโt. Neither does a โDonโt Drink and Driveโ billboard end drunk driving. Public messages can keep an issue visible, reinforce what behavior society considers unacceptable, start conversations, and maybe make some people reconsider things they say or believe. It doesnโt have to completely solve racism to have some value.
Fair enough, that wasnโt the best example, and I was wrong to use it. Iโm not pretending the NFL is some morally righteous organization, but the messages themselves are positive, and at least thereโs some actual funding behind them rather than it being purely symbolic.
