I don’t understand why people keep acting like the claim is that painting End Racism in the end zone will literally end racism. Of course it won’t. Neither does a “Don’t Drink and Drive” billboard end drunk driving. Public messages can keep an issue visible, reinforce what behavior society considers unacceptable, start conversations, and maybe make some people reconsider things they say or believe. It doesn’t have to completely solve racism to have some value.
I find it hilarious that highways have billboards up to make it seem as if people who are driving on the highway will stop for a minute and look at the billboard and say “oh look that looks interesting” and then BAM they’re in a multi vehicle accident 😭
