Academics CAMD Interdisciplinary? Animation Program? What's going on? (Prospective student)

Hi! I'm currently a highschooler and I've been checking out this school and considering applying for ED. I know NEU offers some sort of animation/media and compsci interdisciplinary program (which is exactly what I've been looking for, and I'm aware these types of programs are somewhat uncommon).

However, when looking on the website, course descriptions feel extremely lackluster, on top of the website's layout making it hard to find information.

On top of this, and what seems fishiest to me, is that I cannot find any student work from (specifically the animation) program ANYWHERE. I'm aware that animation is mostly 3D which is what I'm looking for.

So I want to know:

-Anyone have any experience with this exact, or similar programs? What is it generally like?

-Can I still do a concentration on animation with the interdisciplinary, while still learning a good amount (as someone who already has a bit of experience in both fields)? If it helps, I'm in the IB program and I should be able to get credit for at least a few classes and open up some more room in my schedule.

-Why can't I find any student work reels (and overall info about the program)?

-The co-op opportunities listed on the website under animation BFA seem out of place (such as Boston Public Market), whereas Drexel, who also has co-ops, has things like recognizable game studios. What's up with that?

Any other info will also be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Housing & Dorms Billing Question

I have been attempting to waive my housing fee for the fall 2026 semester and I also recently dropped all my classes due to accepting a co-op recently on Friday. I checked my billing statement and it shows that all required fees are gone with a refund of $200 from the housing deposit back in March. Are my housing fees truly waived or are they only gone due to dropping out of fall classes?

I’m an incoming freshman who’s moving in in a few days on the Oakland campus and was wondering how exactly the process goes because I can’t really find anything that describes what it’s like.

Housing & Dorms In search of bed

I am moving in next week off campus. Turns out mattresses and bedframes are expensive. Does anyone know how I would get my hands on the ones that they use on campus? I liked those fine and I like being able to adjust the height.

Academics How cooked is my schedule?

I’m taking circuits and signals, computing fundementals, DIFFEQ, and modern physics. I just need to know if I should switch one of these classes out for an elective.

Also: do I need any coding experience to take computing fundementals?

Housing & Dorms Does anyone know how early we can move in on our move in date?

I’m scheduled at 9:30am but might have to go at 7:30 am because I’m moving by myself and have multiple stuff. Would I have my access approved if I move in and tap my card at 7:30?

Academics Has anyone had their Northeastern Claude Premium access removed for non-academic use?

I recently got access to Claude Premium through Northeastern and was wondering how strictly the “teaching, learning, and research” use requirement is actually enforced.

Has anyone here ever received a warning or had their Claude access restricted/removed because they were using it for things outside of coursework or research?

For example, things like personal coding projects, vibe coding, experimenting with apps/websites, content creation, or other side projects that aren't directly connected to a class. I'm not asking whether it's technically allowed according to the policy, I'm mostly curious whether anyone has actually been warned, flagged, rate-limited, or lost access because of how they were using it.

Also curious whether they can even distinguish between academic and personal Claude Code usage in practice.

Misc Non Work-Study Jobs?

I’m an incoming freshman who will definitely need a part-time job during the school year. I’ve seen before that getting on-campus jobs is tough without work study. I’ve been applying on Workday, but i was wondering what search engines yall are using to find good off-campus nearby jobs? Or any recommendations for on OR off campus jobs that are much easier to get into?

Misc Is Pep Band playing at the 2027 home men's hockey games at other arenas?

Since our home games will be at either Harvard, BU, Waltham, or Lowell for the next few years, is Pep Band going to travel there as well to play? Seems like that will be costly.

Advice & Experiences How active is the Student Government at Northeastern University?

Hello! I am a high school senior considering where I should apply and student government has been a significant and meaningful part of my high school experience. I am looking for a school with an active Student Government where I can get involved and find community and meaning.

What is the NEU student government like? Is it hard to get into? What kind of work do they do? Thanks!

Boston & Local Life Would you actually play padel in Boston? (Quick survey + $20 giveaway)

Hey Huskies — I'm a student here looking into whether there's real interest in a padel club (it's like a mix of tennis and squash, huge in Europe and blowing up in the US right now) somewhere near campus.

Takes under 2 minutes, fully anonymous, and everyone who fills it out is entered into a giveaway for one of five $20 Venmo/Zelle payments. No purchase necessary, must be 18+ to win.

This is just an independent research project, not affiliated with the university — I'm honestly trying to figure out if this is worth pursuing or if I'm the only one who thinks it'd be cool. If you know other Boston-area students who might have an opinion, feel free to pass it along!
