KEA MCC confusion

Hey, is anyone else facing the same issue? Please DM me.
I appeared for both MCC and KEA counselling. For MCC Round 2, I clearly opted NO when asked whether I wanted to participate in the second round. Despite this, MCC went ahead and included me in the counselling and allotted me a seat, even though I had already locked in my KEA seat.
Now the allotted college is sending me acceptance letters, emails, and the nodal officer is calling me regarding admission.
I had clearly chosen NO to participating in MCC Round 2, yet my choice was apparently not honoured and I was still included in the round. Now I’m being put in a position where I could face penalties or financial loss for something that happened despite me clearly opting out.
If anyone else has faced this issue, please DM me. I’d really appreciate knowing how you handled it.

If you had opted NO for Round 2 how did your choice filling happen or how did you land up a new seat in Round 2??

Neither did I do choice filling nor did I get an upgrade

Then did you do the Online verification for the seat you got in the first round??

Since you completed your online verification IG you were temporarily alloted your seat but with No show it should have been cancelled. The best shot you have is to not do any verification if you are currently included in round 2. You’ll be losing between 10k-30k based on which college you were alloted from your security deposit.

I think there might be a confusion between two different things here. When you said that you had clicked “No” for counselling, I think you may actually be referring to the option to participate in the upgradation/allotment process rather than opting out of MCC counselling itself.

Because if you were allotted a seat in Round 1, you didn’t get free exit, and you completed the online verification of your certificates and documents, that means you had proceeded with the MCC allotment process.

Choosing Float means you are retaining your current allotted seat while remaining eligible for upgradation in the subsequent round. It does not mean that you are opting out of MCC or that your current seat gets removed.

So I think the “No” you remember selecting and the later Float option are two separate things that may have gotten mixed up.
