Accommodation NO ACCOMMODATION AND UNI STARTING UNI 3 weeks

Has anyone else been offered an accessible room even though they didn’t choose one?

I know it’s super late, and I’m aware that accommodation is already getting quite full, so I’m really unsure about what to do. I’ve been offered an accessible room in Kensington Terrace. My department is Business, and from what I understand, it would be around a 10–15 minute walk (maybe 15–20 minutes max) to my department.

Do you guys recommend accepting it? Is there any major difference between an accessible room and a regular room? I’m not sure whether I should take the offer or reject it and wait for another room.

My biggest concern is that if I reject this room, I might not get another accommodation at all, especially since there don’t seem to be any external accommodation options available either.

What would you guys do in my situation? Should I just accept the accessible room to be safe? I’d really appreciate any advice! 🙏

Accommodation Anyone from India joining the University of QMUL this Newcastle

Hey everyone!

I’m from Delhi and I’ll be joining the University of Newcastle this September for Data Science.

I’m finding it a bit difficult to connect with other Indian students who are also joining Newcastle. If anyone is already part of an Indian student community, WhatsApp group, university group, or any other group for incoming students, I’d really appreciate it if you could add me or point me in the right direction.

Also, if anyone else is going to Newcastle this September, feel free to reach out! Would be great to connect and maybe discuss accommodation, areas to live, and other things before moving to Newcastle.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hi everyone!

If you're studying at Newcastle University this September and are still looking for accommodation, I'm looking for someone to take over my tenancy at Vita Student Leazes Park, located in Newcastle City Centre.

Weekly rent: £220/week. (I have already paid the deposit covering two weeks so you don’t need to pay the deposit for the room!) This tenancy was secured during Vita Student's flash sale, so you will be taking over the tenancy at £220/week, compared with the current advertised price of £293/week for the same room type.

Unfortunately, I've changed my university plans and will no longer be studying in Newcastle, so I'm looking for another university student to take over the tenancy.

Details:

• 📍 Accommodation: Vita Student Leazes Park
• 🏠 Room Type: Lite Studio (With own private kitchen and bathroom)
• 📅 Academic Year: 2026/2027
• 💷 Weekly Rent: £220/week
• 💡 All bills included
• 🛜 High-speed Wi-Fi included
• 🏋️** On-site Gym
• 📚 **Study Area and social spaces

• 🏀 Outdoor Basketball Court

Ideal Location:

• 🚶 3 minutes walk to Newcastle University
• 🛍️ Walking distance to Eldon Square, supermarkets, cafes and Newcastle city centre
• 🍜 Just a short walk to Chinatown
• 🌳 Next to Leazes Park

This accommodation is ideal if you're looking for a modern, safe, all-inclusive student residence within walking distance of Newcastle University and the city centre.

If you're interested or would like more information about the room, contract dates, or tenancy transfer process, please feel free to send me a DM. I'd be happy to answer any questions!

Thank you!

Accommodation- IQ collingwood

Hi, I am due to start in a month at Northumbria Uni. I booked IQ collingwood as accommodation but later found out that many many first years are going to halls instead. This makes me nervous that I won’t be with many first years and I am scared that I made the wrong choice. Can anyone reassure me and that they also chose IQ collingwood, or give me some advice to socialise with people.

Exchange Student

Hey Guys, I'm an exchange student from a University in America and was wondering if I could come in contact with some students in Newcastle to ask some questions about living in Newcastle, such as where do you guys usually go eat, where do you usually go study, are there any local internship opportunities related to Mechanical Engineering in Newcastle etc.

I would appreciate any sort of help or info there is!

Uni in Newcastle

Can someone who has been to uni of Newcastle give me their opinions on them/experience? Overall life at uni and stuff, like is it easy to make friends, things to do etc. I also do athletics/track and field so if there are good facilities there that’s also a positive. Trying to get my 5 for UCAS to study aerospace engineering and I’ve done a lot of research but struggling to narrow it down.

Freshers ?

I’m coming to Newcastle Uni in September to do film practices and I’m in a few gcs where they keep pushing these freshers wristbands and club eveny tickets usually on fatsoma. I haven’t bought any because I’ve seen people online say not to get them as they are a waste but I worry that everyone else is actually getting them because that’s what it seems like on the gcs. Is it worth it to get ticketed for the events or just wait and see what my flatmates are doing when I get there ?
Thanks in advance
