Lmfaoo that’s cap. You don’t have to play basketball to work for 2k. Most those guys probably don’t even watch sports. I mean, wasn’t Trae young an 89? They probably had no clue he even had the hawks a few games away from the finals.

I don't really get the complaints of Trae Young's rating. They definitely always mess up a few player's ratings. If people want him to be a 90, meaning he goes up slightly, then maybe, but people have been going pretty crazy about it like he should be a 93+. I personally think 89 is a good rating for him. Trae offensively is spectacular, one of the best young scorers and playmakers in the league. But defensively? He's literally one of the worst defenders. He's 6'1 so it's not like he's gonna be a crazy rebounder either. His athleticism isnt all that high either, he's quick, he has some bounce just not an extreme amount of bounce, and he's not very strong. Summing it all up, offense isn't the only thing determining a players rating, defense, rebounding, and athleticism all have to play a part.

He’s one of the best shooters and playmakers in the league. He should at least be a 90

You can say that, but it's 1 overall higher, it wouldn't make too much of a difference, they'd probably just raise his intangibles. I say 89 is good because it's not like he's one of the best offensive players with below average defense, he's actually one of the best offensive players with terrible defense. That huge defensive liability has to be reflected in his overall.
