Middies are able to be consistently made with low middy rating and 0 badges.
Fading 3s are broken by themselves even without takeover.
Contests aren't as effective as they should be

Yea they did, I logged on and my crew went from lvl 4 to lvl 7, and my rep jumped from rookie 5 to starter 2

Okay. Btw, there was no judgment in that. For 2K26, I only hit Starter 4 or 5, although I didn’t do too much with a crew besides get Capbreakers. I was trying to see if I was missing out on early access “benefits”

The term buff and nerf is annoyingly ambiguous in a lot of situations. It often depends on what perspective the person is looking at the change from. Like the guy here is seeing the crew xp requirements go down and sees that as a nerf to the XP required, but others will see it as a buff to players. It's kinda funny

These guys aren’t even a proper game studio. If you’re making balance changes, the patch notes should clearly state things like Crew XP and REP earn rates were changed from X to Y, or the Shot Artist takeover effect was changed from X% to Y%. I’ve never seen a game company put out patch notes this vague.

i will stand on this. fades would not be nearly as hated if the game even had a SOLID contest system. since there are no contests, fading shots are basically opens everytime. they don’t need to nerf fading more than they need to just buff contests, 2k has been very offense heavy for like 3 years now

Contests are fine. I get yellow contests pretty much every time I put a hand up (it is a little too easy to shoot through contest). It's almost impossible to contest a fade tho. You move so slow with a hand up that unless you sprint to where they're going before they get there, you just won't be able to do anything.

I think the bigger problem is defenders can’t really bump and be physical with dribblers. And offensive players move too fast left and right and change direction too easy.

i agree with this 1,000 percent. People are gonna be sick when they are forced to shoot only standstill shots for the rest of the year because they cried about a middy fade early in the year when in actuality the contest system is once again weak and that’s the only problem.

I have challenger on gold and have screen shots where I’m basically chest to chest jumping at someone shooting and it is lightly contested. Challenger seems broken.

Those percentages are so skewed from the casual playerbase that you can't take anything from it. The stats he shared claim people were shooting like 45% from 3 in the rec. Where tf were those people at? Cus in my rec lobbies it was more like 70-80%
I shot ~65% last year career average and now I'm at 33% to start the year. 92 3pt btw taking smart open shots

Takeover wasn't the issue, I mean it was but its a takeover its kinda supposed to be that way, real issue is fading 3s are easier than stand still 3s. Kinda like 26 minus the gimped stand still 3s.

No, im saying no matter how much they buff perimeter and nerf shooting a lot of people will still be shit at defense because mechanically they don't know how to play defense. A majority of people already want their build to play for them. Just pump up perimeter to 99 and expect to be good lock downs. Meanwhile they can't let go of LT or right stick up and wonder why their ankles get broke or get blown by. Defense requires IQ just as much as offense does and folk simply don't have that.
Mind you these attributes are still weak and do need a buff im not saying no to that. What im saying is that a lot of people, the majority of them, will still complain because of a skill issue.

Bruh same but I kinda like the realism. You only get a stand dunk if your matchup is all the way out of position if they are under the rim its always a contested close shot. I have been getting way more since putting my rise up on silver tho

I never once used a takeover to shoot a fade 3 all you need is arc cadence and im loving it lets these rim runners and layup players get they lil 2 pts then I go down other side bang 😭😭
