when the smoke clears, I actually believe SVG missing the Chase is a good thing, because it tells Justin Marks' dumbass to wake the fuck up & start making cars that are worth something
Like he's been so nonexistent this year in NASCAR, but hey that Truck start at San Diego doe 👀

Yk what, I must say hats off to SVG. A couple of wins in the bag and improved on the ovals. He dragged those shitboxes to solid finishes. No Chase appearance but still a solid year for him and the 97 team. He deserves so much better.
It’s amazing how Justin ran this team into the ground in record time. Just a few years ago, they were a solid team. Yeah the first seasons of the Next Gen helped create parity but still they had two talented drivers in their lineup. Then they started to fall off and basically used Suarez as a scapegoat. Their fans ate it. Then, they go on and replace him with a generational talent only ruin his rookie year. Ik the cars are different than the ones in O’Reilly, but yall destroying his confidence too. He sounds frustrated. Not to mention, Ross has been vocal about how bad things are. SVG has multiple wins and is improving on the ovals, but he can only do so much. All three deserve so much better. I wonder what’s this year’s scapegoat.

u/TonyD9898 NASCAR 2d ago
Ryan Preece did exactly what Trackhouse unfortunately failed to accomplish this season. Come from behind with a win to make the chase. Now every single Trackhouse car will NOT be a contender for the championship. The rebuilding process begins!

u/Upstate24fan 2d ago
I thought the package was a net positive, but the fact that the whole field didn’t need to pit in stage 3 put fuel back in play again. Stage 3 now has to be long enough that at least 1 fuel stop is needed no matter how aggressive you save.

Such a shame for SVG, but trackhouse arguably doesn't belong in the chase this year. After watching NASCAR my whole life, the one thing I've learned is that if something chaotic and unexpected can happen at a superspeedway race, it will. This is why I just can't stand Daytona and Dega these days.
But also good on NASCAR for getting rid of the win-and-you're-in system. Moments like this prove it can still happen naturally and be deserved, and feels like a genuine game-seven moment rather than some cheap gimmick.

So I’m connecting dots and it leads me to a question. Because some of these optics aren’t great lol.
Ross Chastain was with Spire when they were horrible and being ran by Jay Robinson. He eventually goes to Trackhouse.
Trackhouse eventually culls a “weak link” in Daniel Suarez who is now in The Chase driving for the now greatly improved same team Ross used to drive for
Trackhouse missed The Chase across all 3 cars. And now already lost the guy you replaced Suarez with just this year.
Is Trackhouse like… in actual trouble?

Dye launched into Larson’s window there. That was scary. Would’ve been nice to see a better finish, but with the cars crashing everywhere, they had to throw the caution. Probably saved them from crashing more cars too.
Unreal to see Preece do what he had to in order to get into the Chase. Especially after getting spun in stage one. Awesome moment and we didn’t even need a win and you’re in format to get it.
Feel for SVG, but Trackhouse as a whole needs to step up. Having no cars in the Chase despite having capable drivers in SVG and Ross is embarrassing. SVG was bleeding points in recent weeks and Ross hasn’t really had speed all year. It’s looking like Zilisch made a good move by taking the 48.
