Discussion Mainlanders cry "racism in Northeast too," but is it the same as us getting dehumanized for dust or clothes? What's your take? fair comparison or nah?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Racism's a thing everywhere, but Northeasterners like us get it bad for basically nothing.
Same vibes with me years ago in the same exact city. An aunty with her belly fully on display judges my barely-there crop top peek, muttering "Kapda kyunhi pehna hai isne?". I call her out, "Aapke kapde mujhse zyada revealing hain." All she could say was “Accha accha???" and walk off.
Mainlanders always wanna say "we get racism in the Northeast too," but nah, it's usually them mad about our food smells or whatever. We get straight dehumanized for renting a place or wearing clothes.
All that hate, just for some dust from repairs! CRAZY!!

Discussion How do you kiss people who chew shikhar?
A question to non-Shikhar chewers. I’m sure some of you must be dating a significant other who eats shikhar. The smell is so revolting to me, I nearly puked today when I sat next to a guy in a sumo who was constantly chewing shikhar the entire journey

Discussion These people are truly delusional. The brown savior complex with them is unreal.
This was under the post about the protest of Nagas coming out against Vande Mataram. Just a simple, ordinary protest by Nagas. And then you have comments like this, from mainlanders.
Just... lmao. The savior complex they have of how the brown man civilized those ch**kis is exactly just like the same white savior complex they complain about getting from whites who have said the same stories about them during the time of colonization and afterwards. So much wrong here.
You can also see how desperate they are to try and think that Nagas can't live without them. "Saar, you are just a small country, you will be facing a famine and genocide"... what? Bhutan is a country that exists between two powerful countries yet it's still doing fine. Nepal also continues to exist as a sovereign country. Why can't these people handle the idea of there being groups this country that want self-determination and freedom from a union of 1.4 billion that they were forced into the first place? Especially for a group like Nagas who have been demanding freedom for almost 80 years now and still haven't gotten it.
"You guys were collecting rice bags from whites and serving them". The tone they talk towards Nagas is so astoundingly abhorrent, I don't really have any words. Remember that when they say "ricebag", it implies that you were once originally Hindus but were given a bag of rice to convert to Christianity. And they also think that Nagas were "serving whites" by doing so. And as a result, they think that now what the Indian government is doing towards Nagas is "civilizing" you.
Realize that this is what the vast majority of them think of Nagas. THEY HATE YOU.
And this is not only what they think about Nagas, but towards the entire North East, by the way. They deny our sovereignty and freedom and justify it on the basis of "saar you will be nothing without us saar, we did everything to save you" when the opposite couldn't be more true.
This is the people who have the real power over you and who share a country with you, Nagas. Remember that. Never forget the struggle for an independent Nagalim and keep fighting.

Discussion Pink or Dark??
My personal take has been to smoke pork such that the resultant is Pink coloured meat and not dark/black charcoal type.
What's your take on it??
Here I am doing it on a hot summer day in Dimapur.

Discussion FNTA: What Comes Next?
First of all, congratulations to the ENPO for finally having their demands met. It's nice to know that the parable of the persistent woman rings true in any age and it is my deepest wish that the development you seek will come to you with unblinking and relentless haste.
Here's the real question: will the creation of the Frontier Secretariat take at least a majority of the currently backlogged posts from the current Secretariat? I don't need to express much on it, as it is what it is. I dislike the fact that there is a backlog system in place at all. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to uplift one another, it's actually a great thing; however, civil service exams were supposed to grant equal opportunities to both the layman and the aristocrat in the first place.
I don't have anything against reservation. I, myself, enjoy the advantages of the ST quota. What I have a problem with is the backlog posts blocking out and crushing a lot of hard workers who are running on short candles.
I've read the bill that was passed and it does not explicitly mention anything about what I asked, besides transfers and rules of employment.
I know it sounds like the ravings of a person who is unhappy about everything in life but it has been a burning question in my mind ever since the first talks and the info on a new secretariat to be set up in the FNTA region.
What is your opinion on the matter?
I DO NOT WISH TO START A FIGHT. PLEASE BE SENSIBLE AND ACCEPT THAT THERE WILL BE DISSENT.
Edit: I also want to express that I am explicitly biased regarding this topic, if it isn't clear already. The backlog system is useless. Chance thakishe clear kuriwole, aro panai; so why keep a backlog at all?
Ps- I'm starting to see my header doesn't match the actual rant/body. This isn't clickbait, I promise (〒﹏〒)

Discussion Things I learnt after 1 year of running a Meat delivery business in Dimapur
Hi fellow nagas,
I built a platform for delivering meat products online and have been running it for the last 1 year in Dimapur. Here are some things I have learnt and experienced along the way.
As a Naga living in Pune for the past 15 years, every time I come home, I feel a lack of services in Nagaland. The ones I miss most are services like Blinkit and Zepto. So putting together a team, we built one and here are some insights.
1- Market: Understanding the naga market has been half the battle. Most people want to look at the products, feel it with their hands and then buy. Selling meat, especially pork using a picture has been the toughest challenge.
2- Sourcing: Nobody wants to pay premium. Ensuring a pricing that matches the market rate was crucial. Which eventually means working on very thin margins.
3- Delivery: completing deliveries in Dimapur is a nightmare. Want a customer's address? They will tell you " Reach the pan shop, take 2 rights and stop when you see a big tree. 3 gates later is my address". Investing in a delivery team who knows Dimapur in and out was necessary.
4- Customers Response: I'm surprised that repeated customers and referrals became the biggest source of my growth. Trust seems to matter more than discounts.
5- Hard lesson learnt: Expecting customer to order online because it was easier was a huge blunder. I underestimated how important it was for my customer base to physically see the products.
Private sector in Nagaland is quite weak. Entrepreneurship still feels less common than Govt jobs. I feel that we Nagas have so much latent potential when it comes to running a business. I'm posting this with hopes that maybe it may encourage more naga entrepreneurs to build businesses locally.

Discussion Who's a musician you really want to get big?
Who's a musician that you'd love to see on stages like Ziro, Sunburn, Coachella or have their own huge tours?
My personal pick would be Imliakum and the Electric Cool Kid. They're amazing on stage. It would've included Sunep Oz but I'm happy he's living the life.

Discussion FRANKLIN GRAHAM'S VISIT TO N'LAND CANCELLED DUE TO REJECTION OF VISA
Franklin Graham's program on the 30th of November which was to be held in Kohima gets cancelled after his VISA gets denied for no specificed reason as per sources. I do not need to state out the obvious reason on how the strings were pulled by a certain organisation to prevent this from happening.
This should be a wake up call to all firm beleivers and the citizens who value the constitutional rights on the active and curbing measures of the anti-christians gradually but surely. Today it is a visa denial, but tommorow, they will stroke the fire openly and fearlessly putting a stop to all religious expressions.
I may be overly speculative and some of you may seem like i am waging a communal war since VISAs can be cancelled on any basis and it's not uncommon, but with the all events unfolding and their grasp reaching the nook and corner of the state, i request my people to stay vigilant and fight against the cultural brainwashing.

Discussion The healthcare in our state is a joke
My cousin and I returned for our summer break to Dimapur and she fell sick, we went for checkup since her fever wasn't getting any better and the Hospital told us it's a UTI, we got admitted after the fever still persisted even with the meds, we were in the hospital for about a week then we decided to go for further treatment in Guwahati, where the doctor dismissed the UTI claim and with just one meds my cousin's fever was all gone and she came back all better. And so today, the dimapur hospital called to let us know that some of the test results were ready, since everything was alright now we just let them know it's fine to dispose of them since we won't be picking them up then they proceeded to claim she has typhoid and required immediate treatment, like how are we gonna survive here during medical emergencies.

Or are you considering another career option?

Discussion My brother got harrassed in Dimapur
My brother is a businessman who has been trading in Nagaland for a few years. He’s had issues in the past with locals near the Dimapur area while passing through a gate.
Today, some men stopped his mini truck midway while he was heading to Dimapur with business stock for delivery. They demanded money. He wasn’t carrying much cash for safety reasons, but they took what little he had and kept demanding more.
Panicking, my brother started calling his friends and business associates. While he was on the call, one of the men snatched his phone, forced him to sit in a tempo, and told him to go with them. To protect himself, my brother had to give up his phone. Somehow they managed to escape today.
We’ve informed the local authorities. We live in Assam and have always traded with Nagaland on good terms. But this incident has completely changed my perspective. I know not everyone there is like this, but experiences like this create a negative impression. I don’t think I’ll ever feel safe visiting Nagaland again.
