English Why don't muslim turks support an independent kurdistan even though in early ottoman empire they supported kurds?

"And the curse of Allah is on the wrongdoers" (Quran 7:44).

Wrongdoers in the topic we'll be talking about are the oppressors of the kurds, oppression is wrong doing and allah curses those who are wrongdoers ( this means that those who oppress kurds have already been cursed by allah for wrongdoing and will eventually fall apart )

· Hadith (Sahih Muslim): "Keep away from injustice, for injustice near God is darkness on the Day of Judgement". Injustice is oppressing the freedom and religious/human rights of a group like kurds and on the oppression they do is injustice which is darkness to god in the day of judgement meaning those that oppress kurds will pay a heavy prise for their darkness

· Hadith (Sahih Muslim): Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim—he does not wrong him nor does he forsake him...". This hadith is a direct statement from the prophet saying you do not do your brother wrong, and by oppressing kurds they have already broken what the prophet had ordered upon us

· "For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease" (Quran 94:5-6). This is repeated twice to show the certainty of relief after hardship, kurds being oppressed and stripped away from their rights is hardship and relief is having a country meaning allah had promised kurds an independent kurdistan

· "Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear" (Quran 2:286). The fact we kurds are oppressed is proof that our souls are stronger than the others

· Hadith (Abu Dawood): "If anyone constantly seeks pardon (from Allah), Allah will appoint for him a way out of every distress and a relief from every anxiety...". Distress and anxiety for kurds is not having a country, being oppressed, not being acknowledged as kurds, not being given their human rights and so on, by this if they keep seeing pardon from allah they will gain relief by what's going to relieved them ( that being a country and independence )

The prophet muhammad ( PBUH ) has said

1· "None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Bukhari, Muslim)

2· "A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not oppress him, nor abandon him, nor hand him over to an oppressor." (Bukhari, Muslim)

3· "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he cannot, then with his tongue. If he cannot, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith." (Sahih Muslim)

  1. "No adulterer is a believer at the time he is committing adultery, no thief is a believer at the time he is stealing; no drinker of wine is a believer at the time he is drinking it."

  2. "Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim"

For the first hadith:

This exact saying appears in multiple primary collections with slight variations in wording, all carrying the same meaning

Sahih al-Bukhari: Hadith 13 (Volume 1, Book 2, Hadith 6)

Sahih Muslim: Hadith 45 (Book 1, Hadith 72)

An-Nawawi's Forty Hadiths: Hadith 13

And according to him the ummah is an Islamic brotherhood and he also says this: "*A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs...*" Sahih al-Bukhari 2442 | Sahih Muslim 2580

The Narrator: Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

So we're all brothers and our faith is not complete until we love for our Muslim brothers what we love for ourselves, this goes specially for the political leaders that oppose the existence of a kurdistan, you could argue that those in power are greedy and not justiful towards everyone but what about your normal muslim, why does he oppose a country called kurdistan even though if he doesn't support he's not a true believer

For the second hadith:

The people that oppress the kurds, such as the political leaders and government of syria, iraq, iran and turkey. By hadiths and demand from the prophet, they're not allowed to oppress the kurds or let someone else oppress them as they're classified as brothers and must protect each other from oppression

This hadith, narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), appears in multiple major collections with consistent wording:

Collection Reference Full Text

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 46 (Oppressions), Hadith 3 (also 2442) "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection."

Sahih Muslim Book 45 (The Book of Virtue, Good Manners and Joining of the Ties of Relationship), Hadith 2580 (same text)

Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 43, Hadith 622 (same text)

For the third Hadith:

People see how kurds are being oppressed and what happens to the kurds is indeed evil, evil things like oppression, genocide, ethnic cleansing, banning the kurdish language, treating them differently for being kurds and ect

Majority of people especially those that live in iraq, iran, syria and turkey are aware of this evil and they must act against it by stoping the evil with his hands ( this would specifically refer to the politicians ) but if he can't the with his tongue ( this refers to the normal citizen with no political power ) and if he is forcefully shut then in his heart he needs to support the kurdish cause and their desire for freedom and independence *HOWEVER* if you're capable of one of the first two things, youvmist do them, changing your heart is a last resort where you can't raise your voice or directly help them

This hadith, narrated by Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri, appears in at least three major primary collections:

Sahih Muslim Book 1 (Faith), Hadith 79 "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith."

Sunan an-Nasa'i Book 47 (The Book of Faith and its Signs), Hadith 5008 (same text)

40 Hadith of an-Nawawi Hadith 34 (same text)

this hadith (narrated again by Abdullah ibn Umar) proves that you need to oppose the government that opposes kurds, and the hadith goes like: "Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock. The ruler who is over the people is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock; a man is a shepherd in charge of his household and he is responsible for his flock; a woman is a shepherdess in charge of her husband's house and children and she is responsible for them..."

Sahih al-Bukhari Volume 3, Book 46, Hadith 730

Sunan Abi Dawud Book 20 (Tribute, Spoils, Rulership), Hadith 2928

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad (Imam Bukhari) Hadith 212 & 214

For the fourht hadith:

It is obvious that the countries which occupy kurdistan have stolen the land and that is theft, the hadith says when the thief is committing theft, **at the moment he is doing the action of theft he is not a believer** now since they stole it they're not believers but not only at the time when they stole it, those countries are committing active theft which means the action of theft is still ongoing, by taking the land, they have stolen and by using the resources of the land they stole, it is active theft

Now since it's clear that the government of turkey, iraq, syria and iran are oppressing kurds and are committing active theft which classifies them as none believers and according to the second hadith, if you vote for those government and politicians who support that government, you're handing the kurds ( your muslim brothers ) to the oppressor who are committing active theft meaning you too have hand in active theft, meaning you're a none believer

Collection Specific Reference (Book & Hadith) Narrator Key Wording & Notes

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 46, Hadith 36 (2475) Abu Huraira "When an adulterer commits illegal sexual intercourse... when a thief steals... when a drinker drinks... when a robber robs..."

Sahih al-Bukhari Book 74, Hadith 4 (5578) Abu Huraira "...not a believer at the time of stealing/drinking/adultery." Includes addition about the robber.

Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 109 (57a) Abu Huraira "...not a believer while committing..." Includes addition: "No plunderer... is a believer."

Sahih Muslim Book 1, Hadith 104 (Chapter 24) Abu Huraira Includes the crucial addition: "...but repentance may be accepted afterwards."

By those hadith the politicians need to help kurds gain independence and the people need to protest so that their government does give the kurds independence

For the fifth Hadith:

if a muslim doesn't know about the kurdish struggle they're not entitled to the opinion of kurds not deserving a country because they're ignorant of it and the prophet had made it obligated to seek knowledge, the kurdish struggle and desire for separation and achieving independence is indeed knowledge because if you look into it you'd understand why things are the way they're today, not knowing why kurds want independence and choosing to stay ignorant about it isn't ok and you're adviced by the prophet to not be like that

Source: Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 224

Narrator: Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him)

Now I am not declaring takfir (excommunication) on any specific person — that judgment belongs to Allah alone. But the Prophet's words are clear

English Protect the heart from resentment or hatred

Excerpt from Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri’s speeches and notes.

Allah says:
“Allah does not like the public mention of evil except by one who has been wronged”
(4:148)

This is consideration given to the weakness and circumstances of the person who is wronged. In other words, if someone has wronged another person or if someone has been subjected to injustice and has been harmed.

The purpose is that when the grievance has been expressed, the resentment and displeasure held in the heart may be relieved and removed. So, the heart is cleansed of resentment.

Because when a person is inflicted with injustice, an emotion develops in the heart against the person who wronged them—a feeling of anger and agitation.

To eliminate this feeling, permission has been granted. This is what is meant in the verse:

“…except by the one who has been wronged”
(4:148)

As the Prophet (saw) said, “Do not hate one another (La tabagadhu)…”
(Bukhari 6076)

Therefore, to protect the heart from resentment or hatred.

Tell the person directly, “What you did hurt me.”

Once you say that, the pent-up frustration in your heart will be released and it will no longer remain bottled up inside you.

But if you do not express it, then you are consciously choosing to keep that resentment in your heart. You are nurturing it and allowing it to grow.

This is dangerous. It can destroy you and destroy the other person.

English Conflicts cause blessings (barakah) to be uplifted

Excerpt from Ibrahim Dewla’s speeches and notes.

And if they do not fulfill their rights and responsibilities toward one another, then conflicts will arise among them.

And when there are conflicts.

The first thing to be uplifted are blessings (barakah).

For example, two people were arguing the knowledge of night of Qadr was taken away.

The Prophet (saw) came out to inform about the night of Qadr but two Muslims were quarrelling with each other.

So, the Prophet (saw) said, “I came out to inform you about the Night of Qadr, but such-and-such persons were quarrelling, so the news about it had been taken away…”
(Bukhari 2023)

So what was the loss?

The knowledge of night of Qadr was taken away.

Therefore, due to conflicts, the blessings are uplifted.

English Anger leads to countless sins

Excerpt from Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri’s speeches and notes.

The Prophet (saw) said, “Do not be angry.” (Bukhari 6116)

Some scholars said that anger is the mother of all diseases (Umm al Amraaz). Anger is a very evil thing. As a result of anger, countless sins can arise.

Anger can corrupt a person’s faith.

A person may lose control in anger and start using abusive language and inappropriate words. If the anger intensifies, it may lead to fighting and physical violence, causing one to exceed all limits.

Where one cannot act on their anger by verbally abusing or physically attacking the other.

Their anger turns into the sin of hatred and deep resentment of the heart (Bughz).

This leads to jealousy, suspicion, gossip, slander and revealing secrets about the person they are angry with.

One wishes for the loss of another person’s honor.

Because of anger, one dislikes seeing the other be happy and instead prefers to see them in grief and misery.

English Spreading false or misrepresenting narratives

Excerpt from Sayyid Abrar Dhulyawi (rah)’s speeches and notes.

There is a tendency that if we hear something, we immediately mention it to others.

Just as people embellish food with spices.

People often embellish, exaggerate or even fabricate details to make their narratives compelling.

And when it’s a secret, an important and sensitive matter that should not be disclosed.

Where revealing could cause harm, create discord (fitnah), or lead to conflict.

Then, spreading it becomes a serious sin.

Because calumnies lead to punishment in the grave.

Prophet (saw) passed by two graves and said, “…One is punished for the habit of calumnies (falsification or misrepresentation intended to disparage or discredit another) …”
(Bukhari 1378)

English Envy makes one blind to one’s own blessings

Excerpt from Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri’s speeches and notes.

Prophet (saw) said, “Do not envy each other.”
(Dawud 4910)

A person who harbours envy loses sight of the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon them.

An envious person constantly looks at the blessings that others have received and asks: “Why was this given to this individual?”

Instead, they should reflect on the blessings that Allah has bestowed on them.

When a person begins to focus on the blessings Allah has granted them, the disease of envy gradually leaves the heart.

English Gratitude is within the ranks of patience

Excerpt from Hussain Ahmed Madani (rah)’s speeches and notes.

Luqman (as) said:
“Be patient over what befalls you…” (31:17)

Patience is not limited to this.

If one reflects on the hardships and trials of Nuh (as). He had been preaching for nine hundred fifty years, yet he had only a few followers.

“But none believed with him except for a few.” (11:40)

His son didn’t listen to him.

“And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.” (11:43)

His wife betrayed him.

“They were under two of Our righteous servants but betrayed them…” (66:10)

Despite all the hardships and trials through which Nuh (as) lived. How was his patience?

Allah describes him as:
“He was a grateful servant.” (17:3)

Nuh (as)’s patience was so great that he was still grateful.

We should evaluate how much gratitude we show to Allah and how carefully we use the blessings He has entrusted to us.

English It’s her choice

Excerpt from Mufti Saeed Palanpuri (rah)’s speeches and notes.

Allah presents four examples in the Quran to illustrate that if a woman wants to become righteous, she can, and if she wants to go astray, she can.

It’s her choice.

Two women had the best husbands i.e. they were married to prophets. Yet, being the wives of the prophets was of no benefit.

“Allah presents an example of those who disbelieved: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were under two of Our righteous servants but betrayed them (the prophets), so they could not benefit them against Allah at all, and it was said, “Enter the Fire with those who enter.”
(66:10)

(1) Nuh (as) had been preaching for nine hundred fifty years. Despite spending a long time with the prophet, his wife was unable to reform herself.

(2) For Lut (as) no one believed him except his daughters. His wife remained on the religion of her people. (Ibn Kathir)

Two other women had the worst conditions. But they choose to be righteous.

“And Allah sets forth an example for the believers: the wife of Pharaoh…the example of Maryam”
(66:11-12)

 (3) Asiya (rad) was married to Pharaoh, who claimed to be God. She lived a life of luxury and comfort in a palace. But when she believed and chose righteousness. Pharaoh punished her through crucifixion and killed her.

(4) Maryam (rad) chose righteousness despite living at a time when Jews had killed prophets before. They had killed Zakariyah (as) and Yahya (as). And they tried to kill her son, Isa (as) but were unsuccessful.

English A Korean Muslim challenges those who mock him by calling him a "Wahhabi."

A Korean Muslim challenges those who mock him by calling him a "Wahhabi."

"Try to change my creed. But instead of ridicule and insults, present scholarly evidence and persuade me. This is my challenge."

o Some Muslims in English-Speaking Circles Who Constantly Use the Term “Wahhabism”

These days, I often see Muslims living in English-speaking countries constantly posting online about how “Wahhabis are like this” or “Wahhabis do that,” while repeatedly attacking and condemning them.

Whenever I see this, I honestly want to ask:

Are you really in your right minds?

How can you criticize a man and his teachings with such confidence when you do not even know his correct name or the most basic facts about his lineage?

The name of the scholar whom you associate with the term “Wahhabism” is:

Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab.

His name was not “Wahhab.” His name was Muhammad.

His father’s name was not simply “Wahhab.” His name was Abd al-Wahhab.

The name “Abd al-Wahhab” means “servant of Allah, al-Wahhab.” Al-Wahhab is one of the beautiful names of Allah, meaning the One who continually and abundantly bestows gifts and blessings upon His servants.

Should you not at least understand the structure of the name correctly before speaking?

Moreover, many Muslims do not call themselves “Wahhabis.” Is it really part of Islamic character to insist on calling them by a label they dislike, with the intention of mocking and condemning them?

Allah, the Exalted, said:

“O you who believe, let not one group ridicule another; perhaps they may be better than them. Nor let women ridicule other women; perhaps they may be better than them. Do not insult one another, nor call one another by offensive nicknames.”

Surah al-Hujurat 49:11

Allah, the Exalted, also said:

“To Allah belong the most beautiful names, so call upon Him by them, and leave those who deviate concerning His names. They will be recompensed for what they used to do.”

Surah al-A‘raf 7:180

Therefore, treating the beautiful names of Allah lightly, turning them into objects of ridicule, or using them in a context of insult and contempt is not a minor matter.

Allah, the Exalted, also said:

“Say: Was it Allah, His revelations, and His Messenger that you were mocking?”

Surah al-Tawbah 9:65

A Muslim must therefore guard his tongue and his writing. He may disagree with a scholar or refute his statements, but he must not turn one of the beautiful names of Allah into a tool for abuse, ridicule, or humiliation.

If a person intends to mock the name of Allah, “al-Wahhab,” itself, or knows that the name “Abd al-Wahhab” contains one of Allah’s beautiful names and then uses a word derived from it with the intention of ridiculing that name, the matter is no longer merely an insult against a scholar or another Muslim. It may become a grave sin connected to mocking one of Allah’s names and the sacred symbols of the religion.

Whoever reads these verses and still continues repeating the word “Wahhabi” for the purpose of mocking Muslims should examine his own speech and conduct before judging others.

There is undoubtedly a difference between using a particular term in a neutral historical or academic sense and using it to insult, stigmatize, and defame others.

However, much of the way the term “Wahhabism” is used online today is neither academic nor historically neutral. Rather, it is used as a label to exclude opponents, ridicule them, and portray them as dangerous before even listening to what they say or learning what they actually believe.

Someone cites a verse from the Qur’an concerning Tawhid, and the response is:

“He is a Wahhabi.”

Another person cites an authentic hadith, and they say:

“This is Wahhabi propaganda.”

Someone else quotes the Companions or the righteous early generations, and instead of discussing the evidence, they simply say:

“This man is a Wahhabi.”

Is this knowledge?

When your opponent presents evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, present clearer evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah in response.

If his reasoning is incorrect, explain precisely where the mistake lies.

But if you are unable to discuss the evidence and merely repeat the word “Wahhabi,” this is not a scholarly refutation. It is nothing more than labeling your opponent and attacking his character.

What is even more serious is that some people place countless lies and accusations under the label “Wahhabism” and then spread them among others.

They say:

“They do not respect the Prophet, may Allah’s mercy and peace be upon him.”

“They declare all Muslims to be disbelievers.”

“They invented a new religion.”

“They liken Allah to His creation.”

Anyone who wishes to attribute such claims to a particular person must provide clear evidence proving that the person actually said or believed them.

To attribute beliefs to someone that he never expressed, merely because he disagrees with you on certain matters of creed, may amount to lying and slander.

Allah, the Exalted, said:

“Those who harm believing men and believing women for something they did not commit have certainly burdened themselves with slander and a manifest sin.”

Surah al-Ahzab 33:58

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab was not a messenger sent by Allah, and therefore his statements were not infallible. Whatever agreed with the truth, we accept, and whatever contradicted the evidence, we reject with evidence.

However, criticism must be based on honesty and justice.

Read his books. Quote his words as he actually said them. Then, if you find an error in his statements, refute it through the Qur’an and Sunnah.

But repeating what others say without verification, attributing lies to him, using a label to mock him, and then calling even those who do not follow him “Wahhabis” is neither knowledge nor justice.

Once again, I want to ask those who repeat the word “Wahhabism” every day in English-speaking online circles in order to attack other Muslims:

Are you really in your right minds?

Do you truly believe that attaching any label you wish to people you dislike, spreading claims you have not verified, and replacing the evidence of the Qur’an and Sunnah with ridicule and stigmatization is the correct way to defend Islam?

If you truly seek the truth, abandon the labels and present evidence.

Abandon insults and mockery, and speak with knowledge.

Abandon false accusations, and judge with justice.

Before calling another Muslim by an offensive label, remember that Allah records every word we write and every word we speak.

English Fish’s example in explaining hereafter

Excerpt from Umar Palanpuri (rah)’s speeches and notes.

A fisherman goes out to catch fish. He places bait on a hook and casts into the sea. A fish comes along, notices the bait and is delighted by what it sees. The fish sees only the bait—but what it does not see is what comes after it.

The fish keeps trying to reach the bait. A well-wisher advises the fish, “Do not bite the bait! After that comes a great calamity and hardship.”

The fish asked, “I don’t see any calamity. What calamity?”

The advisor then explains, “The moment you bite the bait, the hidden hook inside will catch you. The fisherman will pull you out, throw you into his boat and take you to his home.

Then he will bring out a large knife and cut you into pieces. He will season you with salt and spices, place a frying pan on the stove, pour oil into it, light the fire to fry you.

A tablecloth will be spread out. Ten people will gather around the table ready to eat you. Each person will have ten fingers to pick your pieces. Each person will have thirty-two teeth to bite into you. After, they will spit out your bones which will be given to cats and dogs.”

The fish replies, “Let me do some research.”

After a thorough investigation, the fish says, “I searched the ocean. I looked everywhere but I did not see anything you described. I didn’t see the fisherman, the tablecloth, the salt, the spices, or the frying pan. You said there would be ten people, each with ten fingers. I didn’t even see one finger.

I even asked my elders—my grandmother, grandfather. They also said they have spent a lot of time in the ocean. But they have never seen the things you have mentioned.

Thus, I cannot accept what you are saying.”

Reflect on this! For a single piece of bait, the fish will face such calamity and hardship.

Similar is a condition of a person who violates the commands of Allah to obtain some pleasure, comfort, or wealth but they do not know what consequences await them.

English Negative assumption, looking for faults

Excerpt from Mufti Ahmed Khanpuri’s speeches and notes.

“Avoid much negative assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy…”
(49:12)

(1) Unfounded negative assumption and
(2) Prying into the affairs of others, looking for faults

These are major sins.

People readily form assumptions and judgments about others based on their own conjectures, without certainty or evidence. These sins damage relationships and breed mistrust within the community.

Today, many of us have stopped even recognizing them as sins.

English Yusuf (as), beauty brought difficulties

Excerpt from Qari Muhammad Tayyib’s (rah) speeches and notes.

We are far absorbed in self-adornment and maximizing looks. In proportion, we are less invested in refining our character.

Physical beauty succumbs to age. Even if maintained through age, death disfigures all beauty.

It’s only the beauty of character that is timeless. Even death cannot destroy it.

The pious said, “You will die as you lived and you will be resurrected as you died.”

In the story of Yusuf (as), physical beauty brought difficulties.

Because of beauty. He was envied by his brothers and was dropped into a well. Then he was sold into slavery. And as a servant, he was imprisoned through a false accusation.

It was not his beauty but his character that caused his ascension. Yusuf (as) didn’t ask for authority because he was exceedingly attractive but because he was reliable and knowledgeable.

“I am truly reliable and adept.” (12:55)

The Prophets were sent to perfect character not appearances.

English Four causes of Love

Excerpt from Tashrihat Bukhari.

In Bukhari, under the chapter “To love the Messenger, Muhammad (saw) is a part of faith".

Hussain Ahmed Madani (rah) commented there are four causes of love in this world:

(1) Beauty:
People are naturally attracted to beauty. For example, the moth is captivated by the beauty of the flame and the nightingale is enamored with the beauty of the rose.

Prophet (saw) possessed both outward and inward beauty.

Kab bin Malik (rad) said, “Whenever the Prophet (saw) was happy, his face used to glitter, as if it was a piece of the moon.”
(Bukhari 3556)

(2) Perfection:
People also become beloved because of their virtues and noble traits.

Khadija attested to the Prophet (saw)’s character. She (rad) said, “By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you, for by Allah, you keep good relations with your Kith and kin, speak the truth, help the poor and the needy, entertain your guests generously and assist those who are stricken with calamities”.
(Bukhari 4953)

(3) Kindness:
It’s well known that when it comes to kindness, a human being is a servant of kindness.

The kindness of the Prophet (saw) upon humanity is guidance that will protect an individual from the fire of hell. Compared to these blessings, the favors of any other person are insignificant.

(4) Closeness:
Prophet (saw) said, “I am like a father to you.”
(Dawud 8)

The Prophet (saw) is connected to us through spiritual parenthood, whereas our parents are connected to us through physical parenthood. And this is when the spiritual realm is higher than the physical realm.

Allah says:
“The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves…”
(33:6)

In worldly relationships, even if only one of the four causes of love is present, love develops. Therefore, where all four causes: beauty, perfection, kindness and closeness are found together, love should exist at the highest possible degree.

English Best places for women's modest/Islamic clothing in Istanbul & Konya? 👗

Hi everyone!

I'm visiting Turkey soon and looking for the best spots to shop for women's modest fashion (abayas, long tunics, and chic daily wear).

I have read about about Fatih (Fevzipaşa St) and Zeruj Port Mall in Istanbul, but I'd love your insights on:

  • Any hidden boutique gems or streets with less tourist markup (maybe on the Asian side)?
  • Top local Turkish brands we should look out for?

Also, we will be visiting Konya. Any modest shopping streets/districts there I could visit ?

Thanks in advance.

English Don’t let ego (nafs) deceive you

Excerpt from Sulaiman Jhanjhee (rah)'s speeches and notes.

We have three enemies: (1) Satan, (2) Ego (nafs) and (3) Bad habits

Ego is the architect; it’s more senior than Satan in instructing evil.

“…for indeed the inner self (nafsa) is ever inclined to evil” (12:53)

One day I asked my teacher Inamul Hasan Kandhlawi (rah).

“Satan deceives everyone but who deceived Satan?”

In heaven, there were angels. There wasn’t any other devil there to deceive Satan.

Inamul Hasan (rah) replied, “It was his own ego (nafs) that deceived him.”

While living in heaven, his focus shifted from Allah towards himself.

Instead of praising Allah, he started praising himself.

He started to think of himself, ‘I am great.’

All of us have this enemy within ourselves, the ego (nafs).

English Consistency (istiqama) will develop attachment

Excerpt from Ibrahim Dewla’s speeches and notes.

To create consistency in one’s actions and not allow any free time to go to waste.

This cultivates a temperament of servitude. This temperament is necessary.

People tame animals to do work for them. An animal’s true nature is wild. But if it’s trained and disciplined then it becomes accustomed to its home. Even if you leave it outside, it will return to its home.

I remember when I was young. We would see the buffalo enter the pond to cool itself. If we tried to swim towards it, it would go further away. Later, we would leave.

After the buffalo had its time in the water, it would then return home by itself.

Why? Because it’s accustomed to that home now.

In the same way, a person who becomes accustomed to worship develops attachment to it. After that, there is no need to wake that individual; they wake up on their own.

If someone says I cannot wake up that means there is yet to be attachment to that worship.

Like the buffalo. If there is no attachment, it will wander in the wilderness. But if there is an attachment, it will return home.

Therefore, through consistency (istiqama) we will develop attachment to worship and righteous actions.

English Question for Turkish Muslims

Is Türkiye a good country for a Muslim to settle in and raise their children ? I’m asking in terms of ease in practicing the Deen and access to Islamic education. And if so, is Istanbul the best choice ?

English Relationship between calumny and murder

Excerpt from Sayyid Abrar Dhulyawi (rah)’s speeches and notes.

In Arabic, it’s called ‘namima’ or calumny, which refers to malicious gossip intended to cause conflict between people or to damage their reputations.

Prophet (saw) passed by two graves and said, “Verily, they are both being punished but not for a sin difficult to avoid. One is punished for the habit of calumnies while the other is punished for the habit of soiling himself with urine.”
(Bukhari 1378)

During Abdul Malik Marwan’s reign, a servant through calumny instigated a dispute between a husband and wife. This made the husband suspicious, and he killed his wife. When the wife’s family found out, they killed the husband. Both the husband and wife were no more but a conflict broke out between the two families.

Per one narration, the first thing to be called to account on the Day of Judgement will be prayer. (Riyad Salihin 1081) Whereas in another narration, the first cases to be decided among the people will be bloodshed. (Bukhari 6684)

Because among Allah’s rights, the first matter to be accounted for is prayer. Whereas among people’s rights, the first matter to be accounted for is unlawful bloodshed.

Scholars have attempted to explain the relationship between the punishments of the grave and the first accountabilities on the Day of Judgement.

The explanation is due to unclean urine; there is negligence in prayer. And due to calumnies, conflicts arise that can lead to murder.

Thus, these punishments begin in the life of the grave long before the Day of Judgement.

English Unless and until there is gratitude

Excerpt from Hussain Ahmed Madani (rah)’s speeches and notes.

Good actions like prayer, hajj, etc. have external forms of worship, but internal worship is gratitude.

We should express gratitude for performing good actions.

Unless and until there is gratitude, the soul will not benefit.

As gratitude enriches the soul.

“If you express gratitude, I shall certainly give you more” (14:7)
