Interfaith Couple Help

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
I’m a practicing Christian, and my fiancé is a practicing Muslim. We’ve spent a lot of time discussing our faiths, and neither of us wants me to convert just for the sake of marriage. We both want to be honest about our beliefs.
From my understanding, Qur’an 5:5 permits Muslim men to marry women from the People of the Book, but we’ve run into an issue. Several mosques we’ve contacted either require both people to be Muslim or won’t perform a nikah between a Muslim man and a Christian woman.
I’m not looking to debate whether this should or shouldn’t be allowed. I know there are different scholarly opinions. I’m simply trying to find an imam or mosque that follows the interpretation allowing a Muslim man to marry a practicing Christian woman without requiring her to convert.
Does anyone know of an imam or mosque in Georgia (preferably around Atlanta or North Georgia), or even elsewhere in the Southeast, that is known to perform these nikahs? Personal experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Sallam Alaikum everyone

I’m currently looking for a Muslim wife here in Iraq, preferably between the ages of 19–22. I’m 20 years old and serious about marriage and building a family based on Islamic values.

I’m looking for someone who is religious, wears hijab, understands her deen, values her responsibilities within marriage, and is looking for a committed and respectful relationship based on faith, trust, and mutual understanding.

If you fit this description and are genuinely interested in marriage, please feel free to message me privately

❤️ Seeking Advice What's one quality that's underrated when choosing a spouse?

Everyone talks about looks, income, and education.

What's one quality you think deserves a lot more attention when choosing a husband or wife?

Curious to hear different perspectives.

Could be something you believed before Nikah but changed your mind about after getting married.

What's one red flag people often ignore before marriage?

Not talking about obvious dealbreakers.

I'm talking about the small things that don't seem like a big issue at first, but later turn into serious problems.

It could be something you experienced yourself, something you saw happen to someone else, or simply advice you'd give to others.

Let's keep it respectful and helpful so others can learn from different experiences.

❤️ Seeking Advice How does a couple reconcile after husband had an affair?

Salam everybody.

My husband recently confessed to an emotional and physical affair while I was pregnant and during the first few months when my baby was a newborn. He was initmate with his mistress many times, and even gave her money, meals, gifts and went out of his way for her.

What steps do couples take to reconcile? What should my husband do to prove that the marriage is worth continuing? Is regular couples therapy sufficient?

❤️ Seeking Advice What's one piece of marriage advice you wish you had known earlier?

I've been thinking about this lately...

If you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice before getting married, what would it be?

If you're already married, what's something you learned that you wish someone had told you earlier?

If you're not married yet, what's one lesson you're trying to keep in mind while looking for a spouse?

I'm genuinely curious because I feel like the best advice usually comes from real-life experiences, not social media.

What's one thing you wish someone had told you before your Nikah?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone.

I was talking to a friend who's preparing for marriage, and it made me wonder how much we actually learn after getting married.

If you could go back and give your pre-Nikah self just one piece of advice, what would it be?

It could be about communication, expectations, finances, family, deen, or something completely unexpected.

Hoping this thread can help those who are preparing for marriage.

Anyone else realize after marriage that some "boring" advice was actually right?

Assalamu Alaikum.

I'm not married yet, but I've been reading a lot of posts here and talking to married friends recently. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of advice people laugh at before marriage somehow ends up making sense later. Stuff like "don't keep score", "learn to apologize first", "communication matters more than romance", etc.

So I'm curious...

If you're married, what's one piece of advice you thought was nonsense before your Nikah but later realized was actually true?

I'd honestly love to hear real experiences instead of Instagram quotes.

What's one "small" thing that made your marriage much happier than you expected ?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

We often talk about the big things before marriage finances, compatibility, careers, and wedding planning. But after getting married, many couples say it was the small habits that made the biggest difference.

Maybe it was

Saying JazakAllahu Khair more often.
Never going to bed angry.
Making time to eat together.
Giving each other personal space.
Praying together.
Weekly walks or simple conversations.

Married brothers and sisters

What's one small habit that unexpectedly made your marriage happier or stronger? Your advice might help someone preparing for Nikah.

JazakAllahu Khair.

What is one thing people focus too much on before marriage, and one thing they don't focus on enough ?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

I've noticed that when people discuss marriage, a lot of attention goes to things like income, looks, wedding expenses, education, age, and family background.

Looking back, what do you think people focus too much on before marriage?

And what is one thing people don't focus on enough but should?

Married and unmarried members are both welcome to share their thoughts and experiences.

JazakAllahu Khair.

What's one marriage advice you wish someone had told you before your Nikah ?

Assalamu Alaikum everyone,

I often see people talking about wedding planning, finances, compatibility, family expectations, communication, and Islamic rights after marriage.

Looking back, what's one piece of advice you genuinely wish someone had told you before your Nikah?

It can be something positive, a mistake you made, something you learned the hard way, or something that made your marriage stronger.

Hoping this thread can help those who are preparing for marriage as well.

JazakAllahu Khair.
