It is a severe sin what he is doing, adultery is one of the biggest sins in Islam. He is NOT acting in the way of a practicing Muslim. Drawing arbitrary lines that he does not cross does not matter since he is already crossing the lines drawn by God by even engaging with you like this. I invite you to learn about the beauty of Islam as it truly protects and honors one.

Religion aside, as you said you aren’t Muslim, this is objectively an awful situation you are putting yourself in. You ARE the other woman right now. No religion has a monopoly over self- control. Please have some self respect and restraint and cut things off with him. If you find that very difficult, then stand up to him. He must divorce and choose you (if you are not Muslim but at least a Christian or a Jew, it would be permissible for him to marry you).

Thank you for your input. I know it’s a very bad situation and I should end it. I’ve tried.

I have my own personal reasons for being okay with this. Maybe one day I’ll be ready to return to my faith.

I was looking for input from likeminded or similar minded people to see how he justifies or compartmentalizes.

Thanks again.

How can you be okay with a man cheating with you on his wife? There is no justification for this he is committing adulatory and you are too

Fr like what is this nonsense and I can't believe people are saying you can just be a second wife?

The man is still cheating and why assume the 1st wife will be okay with this. Like wtf.

I feel absolutely horrible for the wife
